Ok ive been searching hi and low for the right info with no luck. Ive come here to see if i can get some info..

alright im out cruzing my 1995 gc with a fresh trans rebuild not to long ago with maybe 100kms on it, all of a sudden it stays stuck in first gear and now it refuses to shift any of the other higher gears, iv e been researching and it could be the governor pressure switch or the ASD and ETAX relays/ trans relay,

this is where my dilemma has began for me.... for the life of me i haven't been able to find the trans relay aka: ASD and ETAX relays in my jeep in the engine bay in the fuse box it doesn't say any of these terms, did i miss something or does my gc not have this relay?

ive posed pics of my fuse box, i really hope some one can point it out please...

well this just got interesting, i just took out the gc for a midnight scoot to see if anything changed and now its shifting the gears but defiantly seems to sometimes start in first then goes through 2nd then 3rd and od. but at a stop it seems to be in second when starting off some times not all the time, this seems more and more like the governor pressure switch/solenoid ?? from what ive been reading up this type of issue is very common with auto jeeps...

cant return as it was rebuilt before i owned it and the man that rebuilt it was an old timer in his 70s and now has passed away... so im on my own. ive seen all the new internal parts put in but i suspect that the governor is pooched...

thats interesting as the transmission shop are saying this, quote:

"no it has a gov pressure solenoid

the regular Cherokee doesn't , but all the Grand Cherkee's do

easy way to confirm for yourself - on the connector of te case harness

is it black with an 8 pin connector

I ma quite confident in my statement though"

your thoughts on this?
