I have ordered a factory harness from Amazon ($44 with shipping compared to the factory price of over $100!) and wondered if there were any tips or "don't do it this way, this is easier" ideas you all had. I plan on doing the install next weekend once the part gets here. Thanks everyone!
Not having done it the best thing I can recommend is to go to the Jeep parts site and download the installation instructions and review them. They'll probably come with the harness but at least you can get some forehand info.
Read the directions its straight forward wires up to the 2 rear lamps and the power and ground to the battery
any questions ask away i have the OEM kit i installed on my KK
reading through and seen that you have the oem kit installed as well. do you hear a clicking noise comming from the black nylon sac in the drivers side tail light when you have your turn signal on or apply the brake? also do you have any idea why my reverse lights quit working? thanks
Just an FYI, that is NOT the part you think it is...if you search the part for the part number they show its just the simple cable and NOT the entire wiring harness, its $45 at most places and it says its for the KJ also.
It sounds like the four pin connector but it could be the pigtail that plugs into the harness. The harness comes with one of those attached already. I think I paid about $130 for mine. The instructions are very straightforward. http://moparonlineparts.com/jeep-liberty-trailer-wiring-harness-p-911.html
This is the one you need.
That is not the factory wire harness... it's an adapter and its for the KJ
