Identifying Dana 44s

Hey all,
Little break in my Chevy project, was wandering around a local junk yard and came across a late 60's International scout. Had a big block 360, I think it was, and pretty intact looking axles, which are, if I'm not mistaken, Dana 44's? I would love to pick up a set of these for my build, just need help identifying them. As for price, the employee I asked was not very clear, he either said 36 dollars an axle or 360 apiece. Is the latter a good price? Thanks for the feedback!

(Sorry I couldn't get very good pictures, Blackberry camera isn't the greatest. Also, couldn't get enough light to get a good picture of the rear pumpkin)

Here is a good guide to diff covers, but it will not tell you what lies beneath, rust, broken teeth etc

I am not entirely sure of the year, may be wrong, but I went back and identified the rear as a 44, too. So, off a scout, these are full width axles then, which require out-boarding of the springs? Because I confirmed the price. The yard has a set price for solid axles, 40 bucks plus a 15 dollar core charge. If these axles are a plug and play where my current wide track D30 and AMC 20 are, well, sold. But if they need the springs moved out, I might as well search for a D60 front and a 14 bold rear for the same price and amount of work.

So my question, are scout Dana 44s full width, and require outboarding leafs? Sorry if that's kinda tricky to tell without a definite year

Yes looks like someones swapped later axles into a early Scout.
The Rear Scout Dana 44 is easy get your pinion angle right and weld on new perches. The front you have to cut off the outer c's and turn them to get your caster. Your Jeep30 had 6 degrees of caster only 1980 Scouts had 2 dregees all other had 0 degrees. then outboard your springs set pinion angle and weld on new perch. Or do what I did and cut 3 5/8's off the longside and then cut a chromemolly shaft and repline it.

It's not the overall width that determines if outboarding is necessary, it's the spring perch spacing. Scouts have wider spring perch spacing than a CJ, so yes, the front will have to be outboarded. As already said, you can relocate the spring perches on the rear axle.
