Who here has done the rubicon trail? If so what specs did your jeep have? Lift, tires, etc.

No damage at all, unless you count a small amount of dragging on the frame rails on the JKU.

It's surprising how capable the JK models are when stock.

I would highly recommend taking your hardtop off though for the trip (if you are in a JK) because I have hear of people tearing the back corners of it up banging it on rocks.

I wouldn't recommend trying it without at least one locker. 33's are ok, but 35's would be better. Definitely don't go there alone. The trail is very busy, and if you aren't setup right and block the trail, you will have a bunch of unhappy offroaders around you.

You should fill out your Jeep profile, it would help to know what you have.

Did it last September with a group. 33", rear locker, rock sliders and a spotter will get the job done. As someone else mentioned best to go with a group. Start at Loon lake, then go to to Buck Island Lake and camp. Next day you can make it all the way to Lake Tahoe. Its a great trail.

I did the it the first time with 35s and the second time with 33s, both JKUs with 2.5 RE lifts.. There are bypasses on some spots and if you have a good spotter you will be okay. It depends on your trip plans and how far you go.., I recommend minimum the following: 2-3in lift, 33-35 tires, on board air, full skid plates, disconnected for full articulation, on board welder, experienced spotter, two spares, recovery equipment (to help others of course) food and beer... I will be more than happy to go again. I am only a few hours away, so let me know and I can give you more details and provide you with a detailed list of what we had, or go with you. Cheers!

I did it solo 2 years ago in my TJ w/3.25" lift and 33s. I did have Rubi D44s front and rear. It only took 8 hours. Came in from Wentworth Springs to Lake Tahoe. Definately have rock sliders and I only put one small dent in fueltank skid plate. Had to use lockers going up 2 rock faces on Cadilac Hill to ensure I didn't slide off down the hill. I'd say it was easy for the Jeep, and almost too much for the driver for an 8 hour run, I was beat from the solid 8 hours of rocks on a warm day.

i did it last year with a local club.

saggy 4 inch lift, open front and rear on 35s. broke a tail light (slid off a rock to tap a tree) and some damage on right side fender and doors. but not bad at all.

this year ill be on full widths, 37s, and locked front and rear. sould be much more interesting :D
