saw a BBC version of Top Gear where they went to Irbil and Dohuk & other areas up north, it weird seeing those places again - even if it was just on TV.
The show was filmed about 3-4 years after I left the AO, so it was neat to see the things that changed and the things that didn't.

I started the thread just seeing how many places that others had been, that I knew also, I dont mind if anyone post about Afganistan, just havent been there yet so I cant relate, so go ahead and post. We all are family, we all have served.. God Bless and stay safe... SEMPERFI..
I was in Baquba and Mosul. Forgot the name of our COP in Baquba but it was some kind of government complex. My bedroom was in one of the former torture rooms. Was at COP Rabiye in Mosul. To be honest I think I spent more time sleeping in the Stryker en-route to raids than I ever got to sleep at the COPs.
Camp Summerall it was a small base close to speicher. Boots on ground Jan 1st 2005 left late October. Served with Pa guard. Still in and currently I'm in Kuwait, talk about boring. I'm halfway through this deployment, looking forward to spend a little of that saved money on the Jeep.
That one must have been closed down when I was there in 09-10, Went to Speicher a few times but never seen Summerall...
:cheers2: I couldnt imagine a yr in Kuwait, I would go crazy...lol But the money is good..Stay safe Bro.
Stationed at Q-West from sep 05-sep 06. Traveled most of northern Iraq doing convoy security. We went to Marez, Diamondback, Speicher, Anaconda, Victory, Liberty, Taji, Warrior, Ramadi, TQ, Sinjars, Sykes, Irbil, and an old prison way up north called Susie. Made the best friends that a guy could have.
Awesome, That is a great thing. That has been my dream for years, I have always wished I could win the lottery or something to become rich, I would pay it forward, My dream would be to help wounded warriors and also kids with special needs to give them their dream, Such as a vaction and such that they could never do on their own, Cant believe that the rich movie stars and singers dont do more things as this, yet people look up to them as hero's and Idol's, When really its our military members that are all true hero's. God bless people and companys that support us. We all thank you...
Dang Brother You should be up for some real frequent flyer miles...lol
