I ordered two of the bearings from the company that had the listing on ebay. "I NEED BEARINGS" phone number is 1800 409 3632. I talked to keith. A little over $7 each with $9 shipping. They are still available. Overland if you can get a number off of the thrust bearings these guys can probaly get them. The bearings have the lip according to keith.
I have been super busy with work but if i get the chance i will pull the worm shaft on the old steeting gear and see if i can find any numbers on the thrust bearing though i didnt see any on the thrust bearing in the gear i rebuilt over a year ago....
Not yet, work for me has been crazy busy and long hours but if i can get about a half hour ill have the rest of the steering gear apart enough to get the bearing out. The steering gear is at the same place as the work im doing...... think it would be convenient and simple, nooooo! lol but ill get to it real soon even if i have to do it at 1 in the morning!.
I had a little time to tear down the steering gear enough to pull the thrust bearing out. As you can see there's not much to reference other then the exact dimensions of which i didn't have the time to break out the micrometer there at work, so i will do that tomorrow i hope.
As you can see in this closeup the only marking on the thrust bearing is a solitary "T".
The other side of the bearing has nothing.
The thrust plates have nothing on them either, here's one side.
And the other...
There's no marking either on the ID or OD of the needle bearing encasement or the thrust plates.
Wish this could of been more help but yet again the Saginaw steering gear continues to be a source of some oh so exciting parts research.
Well shoot. I was transferring all my links to disc and had completely forgot about these guys. Don't know if it would pan out but here's the link anyways. http://www.prosteering.com/ld_gear_parts.htm
I know this thread is pretty dead, but if anybody finds it looking for an INA SLH 12501 like I did, 1800 409 3632 is the number to call, per previous posts in this thread. $17 for the bearing as of 3/5/15, the ONLY other one I could find online was $78 on ebay from France.
Also, though this is the ZJ forum, I can also confirm that the same bearing is used on the '98 Durango Non-plow Saginaw setup which is what I'm tapping/rebuilding.
Thanks to those who originally posted this info!!!!
