Got it stripped down most of the way, getting ready to pull the tub.

Well...I had this empty spot on the back where there used to be a tire carrier, then a coworker gave me his original tire carrier off his '76 CJ5, but it didn't look like it was up to the task of holding my spare (plus I want to move up to 35's eventually). So I over-engineered and over-built some "security" using 1/8" steel plate and 3"x4" angle iron, all of which came from either my company's scrap pile or cut out from old Oil Well Pumping Units. Plated the outside and secured it in the tub, then reinforced the back side of the fender-wells, basically if this thing breaks I did something horribly wrong. I know someone will comment on the fender washers inside the tub, but don't worry they will get replaced.

Over the last 2 days I got some small things done.

Got the fenders cut and ready for tube fenders

Stocked up on some tools today. Got an impact wrench finally for my air compressor, impact sockets, air sander and a paint gun. So I started getting some parts ready for paint. Starting with the roll cage

Getting primer laid down

Again, thanks for sharing these links, as the pics are always awesome!

Do you DD this Scrambler and/or do you drive it to and from the trails?

.
no trailer queen here-- she drives to all trails, does the dirty and drives home. In summer tow a camp trailer as well. The DD is a Chevy 2500 HD with 8.1l and Allison 1000. (awful MPG. Saw 3.19 here today-- been a long time since we saw it that low).

with the full axles, sway bar connected, etc it basically drives like a FS truck, only lighter.

re

change the preheating unit again: the changed part was not the good part, so that give no progress;
today, I have found the good part;
I have seen also that 1 wire of 2 was go out of the connector;
I have replace them in good place and now the engine start at the first rotation of the key: super top!!!!!!!!!!

Drove it 65 miles roundtrip with no top or doors and got 33's for $700 out the door...

Adventuro MTs. Look great and they are quiet and smoothed out my ride immensely!!!!

Even better is I cruised comfortably the whole way at 65 with good oil pressure and temps...

258, 4.10 gears, t176 and 33' feels like the perfect setup!!!
Congrats on the tires! I also run a 258/T-176/4.10s with 33x12.5x15 MTRs. I changed from 2.73 gears and 31x10.5x15s. HUGE difference. The 33/4.10s are a great setup! My buddy has 4.10s and 35 inch KM2. That's also pretty nice, but his 258 has much more grunt than mine.

Well my new griffin alum radiator I purchased back in August sprung a leak last week idling in driveway. Novak sent me a brand new one so I swapped mounting brackets over and installed new radiator.

Great service from Novak and they want a write up on what I think about the radiator so they can improve it for future. I'll be packing up the old one to send back so they can test on it.

Nice work with the tire carrier. :thumbsup:

Where did you get those d-ring mounts on the rear cross member? Those are awesome. :drool:
