We will be having pre-run at Hidden Falls the weekend of April 20th.
We encourage you to bring your family and friends, it should be a good time.
We are also still looking for trail leaders, planners, sponsors, ect.
We are inviting Grand Cherokee/and Cherokees or any unibody jeeps. We wouldn't mind having some waggys join us as well. No offence to all the wrangler owners, its just that most jeep events are dominated by the wrangler. However the pre-run is open to all.
We will be having a giveaway for a set of wj Bushwacker fender flares at the main event.
Notch Customs should be joining us as well and might share some goodies too.
We are working on gaining a few more sponsors before the main event comes.
A group of us decided we would like to see a "Grand Slam Texas" annually here in Texas.
We started this thread to see if we could gain a little more interest.
If your interested please post.
We would like to know what you think and what you would like to see come out of this event.
We welcome any input, ideas or questions.
I figure we shoot for or meet in December, see what kind of turnout we have, take lots of pics for people to see and get more of a feel for how everything will work.
Start small and go bigger, even if we have to do a few smaller events to build to a big one, all that means is more wheeling.
I don't think that really any of us have much experience with this, so we all will have to work together and try to stay organized.
Start simple and build. Right?
I have been in contact with bushwacker a few times. they are discussing our Grand Slam Texas at the next managers meeting. they might even send us a pair of new WJ flares to raffle off. WHOOOP WHOOP

That would be real cool, I'm still haven't seen their flairs on a wj with stock bumpers.
I'm still trying to round up some more people, but seeing as how we don't have anyone new posting here yet, I guess I'm not doing so good.
Nov 14th, I think that's the same due date of my friends baby. Congrats man:cheers2:
Copied post-
The guy that is the president of NAXJAfor the texas and sorrunding states is in my club and he goes to Hidden Falls about once a month, pm me you # and I will get you in contact with him, he is coming over to the house tommorow
Might not be just grands but I sure think we could have a great turnout if they joined our group.
What you guys think?

If the meet in Dec. is a go, you need to post it up in the event section and let everyone know the purpose of that run. There really hasn't been much feedback on this post probably because there hasn't been anything set in stone.
As far as I go, I don't know that I'll be able to make the Dec meet, I have Texas Mile this month, KOH @ Texana Ranch in Nov, then Christmas vacation. If ya'll get an event date set for next year, hopefully it won't conflict with any of my other events next year.
What would yall think if we incorporated a fundraiser when we do our main event?
Not sure who we could give the benefits to, but I'm sure we could find plenty of good ones.
Hopefully we can pick up some people who have held such events to give us a hand.
And has everyone marked the calendar for Dec 15th? Still a good date for the pre-run?
I will definitely pencil in December 15th. I have a friend that is on several of these forums that I will convince to spread the word also. I would really enjoy getting out and running with a bunch of Jeeps. I think that we should do the prerun and discuss at that time the date for the big event. I think if we get lots of pictures and support then we might get a good turnout.
I would defanantly go to Hidden Falls but I believe the 15th of December I'll be on another wheelin trip in Clayton OK... If we could move the date I'll be there.. (im reading this thread via iPhone so I may have missed some current info)
Glad to see more people deciding to join us:woot:
Everybody tell your friends and help spread the word.
If anybody is on another forum be sure to share there too:thumbsup:
I think for the pre-run we shouldn't turn anyone away. The more the better
Well the two biggest time-frames are spring vs. fall. So let's narrow it down between the two and then we can start hammering down month, day, hour minute second.
So I'm for late fall as I have some trips planned this winter and will need a bit to build funds back up.
To keep this easy, as you vote state the running total as such:
Was told Saturday we are supposed to be house/dog watching the mother inlaws house the weekend of the 15th.
Was none to happy to find that out, but I may try to slip away still.

I sat spring just so everyone will be able to plan around that date and not have it rushed, like the first weekend in February. I just feel that if its this fall then people will think of it as more of a i will go if I can and if not oh well rather than an actual planned and organized event such as grand slam west which, really, is what we all aspire to recreate.
it takes awhile to coordinate GSW..... there is alot of behind the scene work involved
