Okay, got a set of axles blah blah, save the story part. But recently traded my old d30 for a 9". Came up on that. Assumed it was 5x5.5, now I asked before the trade he claimed it was and I didn't complain when it wasn't so here I go. Any factory junk that I can run on my d44 front to get 5x5 pattern?
I know I could get new rear shafts, but thought maybe swapping stock something else could be cheaper?
Just call me crazy and ill order some new 9" shafts in 5.5 or in Chevy 6 lug since I have rotors lying around to fit both on the d44.
I'm interested in doing the exact same thing! but unsure if it can be done; I'll be matching a JK rear to a waggy front; thinking I'll probably have to change the rear to 5.5x5 also; probably only because jk wheels wont clear a manual front hub.
Is that what hes asking? reread what he posted and still did not come up with that (it is monday). i read he wants his fac 44 to run 5x5 what does he have now? 5x5.5 or 5x4.5 ?
Ha sorry. The rear 9" was apparently from a car. So it is 5x5. I was trying to think of a junkyard fix for the front d44 to be 5x5 also. Spacers are an expensive waste of money IMO.
Found this for you. Not sure which, if any, are D44. and not sure which, if any, are solid fronts. and... not sure which, if any, are 4wd and not 2wd axles.
Have a Chevy front 44. 6x5.5 pattern. I have plenty of d44 rotors lying around so I could do the 5x5.5 but seems the car axles had different bearing and plate so I can't must jam new axles with the 5.5 pattern in it from what I read.
Rubi axle would be nice in theory but it's narrow as heck and has d30 outers.
Saw that, not thinking the 5x5 would fit. Can't clear front locking hub. Wouldn't be worth drilling rears as there are very large holes between the studs for access to the backing plate bolts. And I counted and its a 28 spline. Gonna get some 31's possibly chromos and then I can order a bolt pattern of choice.
Thanks
