Basicly you just go get 4 decks of cards and fit them in between the rim and tire one at a time placing each card over the other exactly like the last, pretty simple. Beats taking the tires off
Very cool idea, I have been thinking about painting my stock rims but I was really dreading taping up the rim to prep and then re taping to paint. How much prep work did you do before you started spraying?
I've just always slid tape in there and thrown a trash bag the rest. Unless the white lettering is out I wouldn't even bother. My tires are covered in mud most the time and black spray paint on black rubber doesn't exactly show or stick around long.
FYI - about 12-14 sheets of 8.5x11 typing paper does the trick on 15" rims too. Most likely easier to come by than 4 decks of cards - but same principle either way.
x2 on a couple coats of clear - even though I didn't bother with that step when I refinished my steelies - probably shoulda
Im not too worried about spending a whole wopping $4 on playing cards and like hurricane said index cards are a pain in the *** to work with and the cards work perfect.
