I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.
The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.
So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!
Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?
If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!
It was a last minute thing and shooting with me would have been boring for quite a while. I was conditioning my barrel so it was one round, dis-assemble, clean barrel, re-assemble, fire one more round. It didn't actually get to be an enjoyable time until halfway through the morning. We really should set up a shooting get together soon though. I was actually thinking it would be a fun trip to Pahrump to get ammo. Hit Stockpile Defense for ammo and then come back via either Potato Ridge or Wheeler Pass.
Today the wife wanted to go for a bike ride, so I drug out my old Schwinn Moab, lubed up the chain, wiped off all the dust, aired up the tires, then she hopped on her bike and we were off! Halfway around the block I realized I couldn't shift out of low gear after I shifted in, ok, no worries, just more of a workout... then I tried climbing a small dirt hill in the park next to our house to beat her to the path and promptly racked my junk and scraped my knees up after the chain snapped in 6 different links. DOH!
I've been wanting a new to me bike anyway so I figured "it ain't carnage, it's an upgrade opportunity!" then picked up a Gary Fisher Joshua Z1 off of Craigslist a few hours later. It needs some tlc, but I am hoping I can have it running smooth and ready for our next ride.
We know what Andy and Marn did.. Anyone else do anything fun? Oh yeah Marn, we demand pics of the progress. I am hoping you did desert camo, that would look awesome!
Just got back from Utah man I didn't want to leave. 65-70 were the highs all weekend with afternoon thunderstorms. Needless to say its going to take hours of washing to get the mud off my RZR.
I cleaned up my trek after being in storage for about 6 years. Watched a ton of YouTube videos of stupid people driving like maniacs and wrecking in the snow. Currently just left shark reef with my wife. She is now in Lush and I'm waiting outside. I can't wait for winter to come.
It is cooling off!!! Maybe in two weeks, we can start planning now that way everyone can shift their schedules to allow it? There were several guys wanting to try others' toys, so we can get them in on it too.
I thought that I told you... probably not lol, but the gun turned out to be stolen 12 years ago, so I got a nice visit from a metro detective and still haven't heard back from him and it's been about 2 months. The guy was on nevadashooters.com and he screwed me!
So needless to say I'm pretty pissed that I got hosed on the trade.
I went back and and forth big time on how to do the wood stripes and because the materials and textures and seams on the trailer I kept the original color scheme (not actual colors obviously). I figured it would be fine to make it kinda match and just look like it GOES WITH the waggy, not like it came with it from the factory.
