I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.

The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.

So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!

Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?

If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!

Sorry to hear it bro, losing someone (even if its expected) is never easy. We're here for you though if you need to talk.. I am sure most every one of us would be happy to help any way we can.
I have lost two friends in just three weeks. Neither were expected. My friend Chris that I went to training with commited suicide on the 27th of last month. My buddy Adam passed sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. He was supposed to meet me for another friends birthday party on Saturday night but texted saying that his dog which was quite old wasn't doing so well so he wasn't going to make the party. I told him that if he needed anything to give me a call. His final words to me were "Thx man." He and his dog were found this morning.

Dang Andy sorry to hear the bad news. We lost a good friend a few months back. His was really questionable though. Supposedly he was working on his generator in the basement and died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Some say that he killed himself, yet there was questionable stuff going on with his wife at the same time and she would not give him a divorce. What raises more questions was the fact that she had a fairly large insurance policy out on him and she went the same week to his work demanding his 401k money. Not to take anything away from your friends death, but we all have crappy things happen to us and those around us. I always find it best to remember the good things about people and cherish the time that you got to spend with them.

His health wasn't the greatest. He had a kidney transplant back before I met him. Beyond that, he was in pretty decent health. He was getting over a cold that he had a hard time shaking. He had just gone through a bombshell although fairly amicable divorce. It caught everybody by surprise. Pretty much all he had left was his dog. Initial reports say natural causes. I know it sounds stupid, but I think he died of a broken heart. It really wouldn't surprise me to find out that he and the dog died within minutes of each other.

I am heading over to a friends house tonight (the same guy who had the birthday party.) I think we are going to share a few beers, a few laughs, and probably more than a few tears.

Andy, I'm so sorry for your losses lately. Like everyone in here says, if you need someone to talk to, and someone who won't sugar coat thoughts or just unbiased opinions, we are here. If you're free Saturday morning, you should try to join on the hike! Hang in there, man!

Not sure what I am doing Sat morning. Part of me wants to just hang out on the couch with my dog. Another part of me says I need to get out and do something... anything.

You are more than welcome to join. I'm going up even if it's by myself. Haven't done a hike in a while, and new to get out for a bit. If not bristlecone, I'll do Mary Jane falls again.

We will see what the weekend brings. I am not going to make solid plans until I find out about the funeral.

LOL, I can put your butt to work if you want? I can set you up with a face mask, ear protection, gloves and the cut off wheel if you wanna shoot some sparks? Just don't slip and loose a finger!!!

I need to get this truss fitted better to the axle. Essentially I'm going to lay it out just as shown here, then using my finger/hand as a guide runing along the axle I'm goign to try and trace/transfer the profile over to the truss. Then just simply cut along the traced line.

While that's going on I'd be in working on the cab getting seat mounts figured out and steering column stuff and even maybe even start working on fitting the dash.

I was thinking of bringing my dog, but I'm not sure how she would do around other dogs. She's....territorial! Very protective. I suppose if I bring her I'll make sure I have her on her choker! I know many of you dont believe in them, but it's very useful in keeping her from killing chihuahuas! Lol

Nope use it. Dogs are animals not people. Call me what you want but dogs don't sleep in beds, eat at the table, or sit on the couch.

At least at MY house they don't! She's a good dog around familiars, but I would need something to really get her attention around new people/animals. I don't think there will be an issue after the introductions are completed. Don't want to scare anyone or discourage company with dogs, just providing a heads up is all.

She is a good dog, very friendly. If i can convince my wife to take her i would have her in a second.

Whiskey would be a non-issue no matter what! It's Justice that I'm cautious about!
