Thanks, man! It took very thick coats with such contrasting colors, but that's what my wife wanted! She a bold woman and her Jeep follows suit! :2thumbsup:

Hey couple questions with your ZJ, I'm wanting to do mine in all black including the cladding.

How well does it hold up on your cladding? IDK if I want to rip them off and then fill the holes in the body and monstaline the whole jeep afterwards, or line the cladding as well.

Last question, does new emblems and badges stick to the monstalining?

IDK if I want to roll right over the emblems or take them off and spray paint them black and then stick them back on?

Any suggestions?!?

One gallon of Pyroclastic rolled in the tub, the roll bar, and a set of side bar steps (those also have the non-skid applied to them). Also used the silver-aluminum Chassis Saver.

As you can see in the first pic, the exterior is ready for (and badly in need of) Turquila... coming soon!

Monstaliner in "Red Head" 98/04 TJ

First of all this is a continuation of a build on my 98 TJ that I put on an 04 chassis and drivetrain. This is so I can break it up by posting the Monstaliner portion of the build.
The build can be found here on a local forum here in NH http://forums.exploringnh.com/showthread.php?t=19636

Our plan is to strip the paint down, prime and cover the entire thing with Monstaliner using a Shultz gun to spray it on, no rollers.
The inside got a coat of Med Quartz Grey
The underside, bumpers, sliders and fender flares get black
The outside will be Red Head which is like a burnt orange

So while we had the black Monstaliner out my wifes Cherokee hood had road rash rust that turned into rot once we started grinding it down. We filled in with bondo and coated

Came out good and the wife is happy which is all that matters. Now she wants here fender flairs done.

The sliders and kicker plates are all epoxy primed and ready for Monstaliner

Need to take some pictures of the sliders painted in black once the rain stops

Mixing up the "Red Head"

The master at work

The hood looking good

Drying

Finally removing the tarps

Almost time to assemble

Where we pained the inside of the fenders and hood black we were able to use 1 gallon of Monstaliner but came up a little short. We epoxy primed with a light green which showed through in some spots. I think next time we will paint it with a similar color.
To touch up we found a color that matched pretty good and was able to get Sanel's to put it in a spray can. Color is DuPont RS679

Found a spot that was lite but it was only the seam where the fender meets so I did some touch up.
Before

After (need to scuff and clean before applying)

Did the grill and inserts. Headlight rings were done as well. Had to use an adhesive promoter

Knocked out the first part of the exterior, which was the larger portion... the Jeep's exterior, hood, grill, dash, shifter cover and some hinges. Rolled-on and this only took one gallon. The second gallon will most likely be rolled on Saturday morning for the full doors, windshield frame, the hood hinges (forgot to prep those earlier) and fix any light spots on today's job. I love the color combination... Turquila exterior, pyroclastic interior. More pics to follow when she's all together and in a better light.
