This thread is to serve as an inspiration to others modifying their ZJ's. Pretty simple, just post what you did to your ZJ today!

Today I shamefully took my Jeep to get the oil changed because it was to hot to change it myself.

Received the new tires today. Just gotta get them put on tomorrow morning.
I want a set of those in 33" flavor in the worst way.

OT: Good news: the 8.8 that I'm probably gonna pick up is lsd. So if it works, awesome (no more 1 tire fires :2thumbsup:), if it doesn't, whatever. Either way its better than the d35 lol.

Does anyone have a picture of the back of their ZJ from the rear with the rear bumper cover off? I'm thinking about removing it and all the cladding but want to are what rear looks like first. Thanks guys

Well I didn't feel like going to my shop again tonight to work on the roof rack so I went wheelin with my buddies. A YJ and a CJ7, had a blast! I hit 170,000 on the trail, and I had to pull the CJ out, first time ever getting stuck, it's in the one pic, took 3 straps, I only got stuck in the creek once.

This is what I was doing to it today

Checked, Fuel press and it is, 38 psi key on, 42 idling

Well, it's not, just stalling when it's idling, it's just shutting off randomly, I took it for drive after, I pulled off the throttle body cleaned it and the IAC.

Twice I thought it died, put it in neutral revved it up a little it was still running,it shut down going 45, it started right back up, shut off at the light idling, started right back up.

It also shut down after idling for 3 or 4 min. when I first started it up. After working on it.

Battery is new five months ago, 875 cranking amps.

Had the alternator tested about three weeks ago, I have the print out, everything tested good, charging system test, loaded 13.850.

Check battery voltage today, 12.52, engine off, 13.85 engine running.
him
Tested throttle position sensor, closed the reading was 7.35, WOT the reading was 3.916.

The FSM says, with throttle plate closed it should be greater than 200 millivolts, at WOT output voltage must be less than 4.8 V.

according to that test the TPS is bad.

All that said, because of the fact that it is shutting off randomly, and stumbled a couple of times, I am thinking standard products, crank sensor that is in there, that I bought when I didn't know any better.

I had a feeling I should replace that CPS anyway, so I ordered one this morning from the dealer, $79. It will be here in the morning, so we shall see

cursed at it a lot. it was one of THOSE days. rear hatch quit (after i loaded it up of course), drivers window quit (halfway going up) and the noise from the front end got worse. i did also get a full sized spare from the JY though. similar style cherokee wheel but the rounded spoke one came from a 94

Threw the last few items I thought of in either the tow rig or the Jeep, loaded it up in the trailer. Just need to put my old transfer case and skid in the tow rig for an emergency spare if somebody needs the TC, and maybe even sell the skid :D

Wheeling Heaven bound tomorrow around 10:15-10:30...Moab Baby!!

Totally different transmission there my friend, sorry :(

Perhaps there's a junkyard nearby? You didn't give us a location.

Installed a new Fram filter and some GE Nighthawk Platinums.

Had 'em on my old car and damn were they bright...

Hard to notice any difference on the ZJ in the city, but when I get out of town and back to the sticks they should light the woods up well :)

I also drove the **** out of it tonight. Transmission seems fine now, not even going to keep looking for a new one. Man that exhaust sounds mean...
