Mirror relocation suggestions

Hey guys, first post here so don't beat me up too badly...

I'm looking for a solution to my mirror problem. I'd like to take my doors off and stay street legal, and I've been looking at a bunch of mirror relocation kits but can't figure out what's best for me. The weather here is pretty inconsistent so I imagine I'd be removing the doors and putting them back on frequently.

Should I look to get a relocation kit (and if so, which one do you suggest) or should I look into getting temporary mirrors for the empty door hinge (and again, what kind would you suggest).

Thanks in advance!

I have a set of A Pillar light brackets that I'm going to use to mount mirrors on.

Any mirror reloc racket will do for year found drivers side. Passenger side is useless w the door on, and greatly restricted w doors off. I bought rugged ridge quick release mirror for pass side. I run full hard doors in winter and full soft/ no doors the rest of the year. I've had the rr quick on for 1 week. Happy so far. The mirror is round, but has a long enough arm to be seen w any door or no door.
Peace. '09 2door soft top.

Ps anything from Lange originals is a piece of s$&t. I have "the rack". More like the rusted piece of garbage. Off topic, but I'm p-o'd for the $400+ spent. Didn't even fit right. Punks.

i took a strip of aluminum approx 1in wide and 1/8" thick cut to length bent one end flat to bolt to the hinge, drilled it and then bent the strip outward to position the mirror further from the body of the jepp. I then took a emergency signal mirror that i had (had a hole in it) put rubber washers on both sides of the glass and bolted down. easy on and off and only $10 in parts

I also initially had a small mirror that was part of my dads tool hit. the mirror was on a pivot and attatched to a rod ( think dentist mirror) it fits in the hinge hole put would fall through to the base of the mirror so it would stay put. hardly constitutes a mirror but figured i could probably win over a cop with ingenuity if i had been stopped

Bought schwinn bicycle mirrors from target for $7.99, took out the bolt in windshield by door, mounted there. mirror comes off with out removing the bolt, so I can take mirrors off but leave the piece screwed in without interfering with the doors.

I see this is an old thread but I'll add my mod in anyway in hopes it helps someone  Go to the link at the bottom of the page, click it to go to my site and watch the video. Just one note though. I really wasn't thinking about the pitch of the windshield when I welded the square tube to the tread plate. The factory YJ mirrors didn't have enough rearward tilt to make up for the pitch of the windshield. So, the mirror kinda looks at the ground a bit, I put spot mirrors on it to help fix my boo boo until I get around to making another set. If you space the top of the square tube out about 1/4" and leave the bottom of the tube contacting the plate it should be about right. Hope this sparks some ideas!
