Talk to kolak about the bilstiens but im pretty sure mine are for like a 0-2 lift because i asked him about them with my hd springs and he said its ok because there actually longer. Its like 310 for them. And thats a good deal on springs/ tb

You should be fine on stock shocks as long as you dont wheel it.

I will have to give him a shout. I was hoping to run just the springs and get away with waiting until the summer to do the shocks.

Thanks, I got them from a JF Member who wanted all the "A" springs on the OME HD's and he didnt need the track bar so he helped me out.

I actually didnt even plan on using the JKS at the moment.

I am bring the springs back up with me after spring break. I am then going to put the springs on and see where they net me in lift.

Then depending on the ride, I may have to take them off until I get shocks for them.

MORE work to the Jeep today. Took two steps in the right direction today yet took one step back. Here is the story:

The good (I guess):

1. Got the Jeep inspected woohoo. To bad I had to pick up stock headlights to swap in for it to pass. (But whatever it was 50 bucks and I cleaned them up really nicely and they look pretty much brand new, going to keep them if I decide to go back one day or maybe a projector retrofit!!) I also cleaned my aftermarket housings too and they look much better.

2. Ditched the HID fog lights, and the HID relay harness for the fogs. The lights were a PIA and the harness was a POS. Getting my money back for both from DDM tuning. When I was taking out my aftermarket headlights and ballasts today. I noticed from a year ago that the ballasts made back them were soooo much nicer then the ballasts and bulbs I ordered in January. I guess quality is going down hill again... =/ So I ditched all that and put in Sylvania Silverstars 9005's in the fogs. They are 4100K color temperature and 60 watts. They do very nicely. I also cleaned the fog light lenses and they look better now too.

The Bad:

1. The rear axle is leaking on the seals for the axle shaft. Both need replaced... There goes the rest of my cash! Thank you Jeep. God only knows how much that is going to cost me.

My aftermarket housings won't pass and the HID's wont pass. Because VA is gay like that... I did not want to get my friend in trouble for slipping them by.

First page of the build. Jeep should be snow covered! I did not take any with the stockers today =/

im glad NJ is only emissions ...now i can pass inspection with my tint

before we had safty checks ..and i hada do a lift test ..for that basically i would drive on a RTI ramp flex out my jeep and if she doesnt roll i pass haha
I don't think tint is on the inspection list in VA.

That's a really interesting test for a roll over.

I'd die. Vehicles belong in garages unless your in the middles of doing something or you have a lot of toys! haha To each his own. lol! And stock parts? Selling anything?
we used to have two quads, one dirt bike , one street bike , and three motorcycles but now we only have one quad and motorcycle hah but if I went away to college I woulda parked my jeep in there .....what do you need that's stock?

#3,270 ·
Three car garage at dad's = Front 2 garage: Land Rover, Mercedes, Harley 1 and 2. Back garage: Rubicon (that jeep is soooo baby'd) ATV 1,2, and 3 lol.

headlights... I am not paying 150 or 200 for halo's.. also I need fogs. My jeep came with the appearance package and I'm pretty sure it was suppose to have fogs, but i know someone prior to me who owned her had an accident. body works not noticable but if you look real close you can kinda tell. Carfax came back with nothing before i bought it and it took me atleast 3 months to see it while clay baring. I first thought I had some chemical reaction with the previous wax and then the clay bar. haha

Can anybody confirm that the appearance group came with fogs?

#3,271 ·
I paid 250 for my Halos ONLY for the Projectors for the HID's. I have honestly not heard of the "appearance" package or what it has...

Are there wires for your fogs? Does your switch have a fog symbol???

The final result is just priceless though! :highfive:
I sure hope so! I am going to take pics tomorrow!

Here is something to start:

Oh nasty... I stopwatch timed about a 10 second 0-60... that is terrible.

plus it seemed you were a little too easy on it
Trust me.... I know. And that was about 90 percent throttle. Almost to the floor.

Teaser. More to come.

Ya I have the wiring harness going down and is present at the opening (opening is closed if you were wondering) and as for the switch, where is it suppose to be?

Also I will be upgrading to Akembo calipers (sorry for hijacking your thread again, but I'm so happy to get them I had to tell some people who actually cared)!

On the turn signal, high beam, and dimmer switch there should be a fog light switch. You take that level and pull out the end of it. It should have a fog light symbol on it.

Akabano? I know what you mean. But I don't know how to spell it either! Haha.

I completely understand that. Its cool! Its turned more into a discussion anyways!

Accountant/CPA. He does well. Worked hard for it all.

#3,280 ·
Good for him man! That's great!

back to the akembo or akabano (or whatever the **** they are) anyone know what is all needed? I have read you need the new caliper, mounting bracket, pads and hardware. I have all that. anyone here know if I need anything else?

Thanks for not minding about the hijacking, after this I'm done... Besides I don't want one of those hijacking accuser Nazis to make an appearance.

#3,282 ·
Akebono pronounced ah-kay-bo-no and you need new pads, caliper brackets, and calipers. Not sure about hardware but better safe than sorry. You should really get new rotors too and that way your front brakes will feel awesome when all is said and done.

#3,283 ·
Thanks!

That's a Google question on spelling. I will look through my emails when I can get on a computer. I remember that Kolak had emailed way back when with all the WJ brake information. It may have had info on the brake caliper change. It was Teves (old) and Akebano (new, better)

Nah im not gonna be yelling anyone. Haha. (Unless you deserve it! Haha)

Well there you go. I second the rotors. Wont hurt for sure!

I am doing stillen rotors and pads from Kolak or metal matrick pads. Not sure. Will talk to Kolak this summer when I need brakes*
