;) LOL, I ain't in any rush, here's a current picture of mine mounted to a circular saw box in the garage. Picked up a new solenoid cover from Q-tec, w/ free shipping for JF members total came to $35.99, and a new plug from etrailer, less than $10 after shipping (saw that link in the last thread we had on 8274s, thx). :cheers2:

Here's a few shots of my '86 CJ7 with the 8274 I rebuilt a few years ago. Had to replace the relay cover as the orginal was all broken up, thats why it has the red "W".

8274

8274 is my favorite winch ever built, no CJ is complete without.
My modified Scrambler, in process of installing Jeep SE 8274 with OEM brushguard on orginal

And my CJ-7 with "Jeep Special Equipment Warn 8274" and Jeep serial number stamped 8274.

I had no idea when I got the Jeep if the winch was a good model or not but I knew being a Warn I could rebuild it when I got around to it. It worked great pulling itself onto a trailer but I will NOT use it under load in the current condition. The PO said he wanted to be near the winch so he could see what was going on when he used it. :fear: :eyebulge: :nono:

:doh:There is a toggle switch on that winch! Wow, that was a PO with a deathwish! Or at least wanting a winch hook to the skull.

This is a 5721 but it is in the process of being replaced by an 8274 (requires moving the right side mount in a couple of inches). Everyone will have their own opinions, but I have a real problem with 200 lb winch bumpers and I also like to mount the winch low so the lower fairlead roller will allow the cable to be strung back under the Jeep. You get less radiator obstruction and a lower center of gravity mounting low. The fairlead only uses the Warn rollers, the rest was fabed with the bumper.

Those rollers will be replaced with these for the use of rope on the 8274.
