I live in a stereotyped "rich" town and all of the sudden everyone at my school are getting jeeps with 5 inch lifts and 35 muds and don't know how to ****ing use them! They never go offroading or mudding, they just have them to brag about to their friends and to look cool. I have an 01 TJ with no lift and 31 General Grabber AT2s, and I don't plan on getting a lift until I get enough money, because I'm not spoiled and get whatever I want like those other wannabes. Is there anything out there that doesn't cost too much and is unique looking? It Could be anything you put on your jeep, I need something to set my jeep apart from everyone elses.

Yours is set apart... it has scrapes, dings and dirt all with smaller tires.

Don't get into a competition about whose Jeep is better. Enjoy your toy/transportation.

Being popular in highschool is a very temporary thing. Eventually mommy will cut off the party funding and, if you have worked diligently, these same guys will come asking to work for you... happened to me :)

I know that when I drove my black Bronco to school with a new weekend mud paint job, it got a lot more attention than a pretty truck. Plus you end up with a mud outlined parking spot that everyone knows is yours! :2thumbsup:

But if you do decide on the mud, make sure you do the proper prep and maintenance that is needed to play in the mud! I know from experience what a broken axle vent tube and a weekend in the mud can do to your differentials.

You can get your self a budget spring spacer lift that will cost around$50-$60 and then you can install it its not hard and fun thats what I did in high school. I also make my own vinyl decals so I made one for across my windshield and here are some other funny ones I made for my friends jeep.

Quakes, I know a bunch of guys from your town that are my age (22-23) that still get allowances from their parents haha. It's unbelievable some of the cars and toys your town has. But like these other guys are saying a mud covered Jeep will set you apart from the other guys plenty so enjoy your wheeling and upgrade when you have the proper funds.

Whenever I'm down there visiting my friend, I always head to the Pine Barrens. Last time I was there I sunk the Jeep to the bottom of the headlights and destroyed my clutch. Those puddles can be very deceiving. Although I did get pulled out by a 17 year old kid in his Dad's SVT Raptor so that was fun lol.

Haha its ridiculous man, all of these juniors and seniors are getting mercedes, beamers, etc and they didn't do **** to earn them, they are just spoiled brats. I got my TJ for my birthday but that's because I have a good chance of getting a scholarship for football so that kind of pays for the car while im at college. I love offroading at the pine barrens, I go every weekend with my friends and we always have a good time messing around in the mud.

x2!!

Then get making cool stuff for your Jeep!! If you know someone that fabs stuff, hang out and learn how (trust me;)) Make bumpers, rock rails, stinger etc. You COULD buy that stuff, but it's way more satisfying to say "I made that, and that, and those, and...", plus it will set your jeep apart as homemade stuff is your own creation, and can be as wild as your imagination.

Oh yeah, keep it dirty too!!

Take pride in what you have. There will ALWAYS be someone with a bigger/better/newer/nicer whatever it maybe no matter what you have done to yours. Such is life, take pride in doing it yourself. Sooner or later the free ride will run out for most of them, for some with the silver spoon it may not, but that's life there will always be those people. And hey, when they get bored and want a new M5 or something be the first in line to buy their old rig. All that money had to buy some good parts!

Just tell them how bad there Jeeps look and that you bet they could burn all 4 tires on take off in 4 low, get them to try that a couple of times and see how many parts break on them. They are probably just getting a lift and big tires and not upgrading anything. Then when they are sitting with broke axles, go ahead and drive off.
Nah...that would be the mean thing to do, just be proud of what you have and in knowing that you will have earned what is done to your Jeep and not just had it handed to you. You will respect and appreciate yours much more than they ever will.

@ the OP....
I find it ironic that you complain about the richyboys and what their trucks look like and that they "have them ~ to look cool" and you call them wannabes..... But when you turn around and ask for advice about ways to make your truck look cool, you end up sounding like the wannabe.
Go watch a movie like "Rudy" you'll see that honesty, hard work, and perseverance pays off in ways you never thought of.

I think your just upset that you fit right in with the crowd your trying to be different then. I wish my parents would have given me any car at all when I was in high school, I would have still been kissing their *****.

Honestly, using other peoples ideas to make your birthday present different from your buddies presents wont make a difference to anyone but you.
I received my YJ as a gift... But it wasn't like an 'oh hear ya go' present. Honest promise, if you ask anyone in my family they will say that I earned it. Along with the present came new responsibilities i.e I pay my own insurance, repair bills, and gas. The YJ is a present that I will cherish until the day I die, simple as that. I am completely and so utterly thankful that my mom gave me this gift.

OP,Just be happy with yours and forget about other people.

Ah young and dumb. I was a football team captain in high school, and worked 40 hour weeks to pay for my Jeep, insurance, and gas. You have it easy. I also work full time still and am a full time engineering student. My parents made good money and I didn't understand at first, but now that I'm a little older I thank them for making me work for what I PAYED FOR. Stop your complaining and grow up, the hard workers always end up on top and be thankful for what you were blessed with.
