94 yj 6.0 v8, stretched and linked build "SPUD"

So im starting this thread a little late but i figure better late than never, i bought my 1994 wrangler last 2 years ago around new years and i knew nothing about jeeps, i got a 4 cyl, which to my disappointment didn't do very well on the highway. So after a few blown transmissions and an engine or two my dad and i decided to undertake a complete "do over" of the wrangler

I can't remember how much shorter it made it but it replaces that whole back end with an adaptor that is 3in thick

how much shorter did the novak adapter make the trans? I want to run the 4l60e but i was worried about the d shaft angle being way to much.
If you do a super short sye youll be fine, I did the medium one and mines not bad but I'm only lifted 4in

IT RUNS!!!! got everything buttoned up today and went to start it... it started first crank which was fantastic. then i found a leak in my rad which i jb welded so thats all good. i drove around for about 20 min, then i let my dad drive and the jeep proceeded to run out of gas on him (i have no gas gauge yet). so we spent about an hour trying to figure out what could have happened and finally i pull the fuel line off and have him prime the fuel pump and sure enough nothin comes out. and after that it was smooth sailing

thanks its a lot of, fun. 0-60 in around 7.3sec... With 3.31 gears on 37s. Im working on getting the engine runnning better. It seems to be runnning a little choppy. Btw I'm averaging 16mpg. Im thinking about keeping it away from any really hard wheeling until after winter just so I have it working during winter. Last year it was broken all winter. Ill try to get a vid of it today

if you cant figure the motor out there is a guy around here that all he does is FI motors... look up Yates EFI, he just started his business about a year ago. or you can always take it to speed inc in chicago but thats 500 but they do get the most out of your motor and put it on the dyno for that price!! you can always go with bigger injectors, cam and springs like i am :D

i figured out why it was running badly yesterday lol it was a plug wire that wasnt plugged in all the way... i didnt feel real smart on that one. also the jeep made it through its first rain storm today

with no back window... can you say lottsa exhaust fumes

i do like the look of the hard top though... but mine is pretty well trashed, the structure is all ****ed up. 2 years ago i was backing up and i forgot we had put it behind the jeep and i didnt see it, i kinda sorta ran it over. it doesnt seal anymore and it doesnt sit right

and it was pampered slightly today....

haha dont worry about it the PO of mine put a new cap and wires on the 4.0 and its been running ****ty since i got it and i started looking things over. Come to find out none of the wires on the cap were completely on
I took mine wheeling today at my buddies house(creek, steep hill sides). very mild but it did well for stock and i definitely pushed it!

lol oops, and that sounds like a blast, i cant wait to get this thing on the trails. i still gotta get a front d shaft made though

#73 ·
im have my stock shaft im thinking about having them modify that one... not sure yet. i may just have one made

Wow nice build. That's a bad jeep. Are those metal clock fenders? They look awesome.
Thank you, and yea they are the metal cloak arched fenders

Love your jeep looks and sounds great. I am just starting a jeep build and want it to be very similar to yours. It is in paint now and have the full metal cloak front to back armor just the flat style fenders on the front instead. I just finished a LS1 T56 swap in a rx7 earlier this year. That car is a blast to drive and gets better mileage then the old turbo rotary too. I plan to later put a 5.3 ls engine in my jeep down the road and your build gives me lots to go on thanks. Here is a pic of my rx7 swap.
