What did you do to your CJ today?

Yesterday:
Installed the Volt meter gauge above the Temp gauge and using the angle like the others it fit straight above the stock temp location. If you do not use the angle set up it will hit the factory air duck and won't fit.

Bought some dumps 2-1/4" so when I want to be loud I can :)

Installed steering wheel and painted seat brackets and re-installed.

Adjusted the passenger door and waiting for the drivers side door striker to come in along w/the factory knobs for the twin stick.

Painted the 1/2 hard top and installed.

Installed the seat belts but I need two seat belt extensions 12-18" due to the CJ8 set up and connecting to the roll bar.

Installed NOS side mirror and I want to powder coat the side mirrors arm black.

Installed air filter system.

I still have to do the door side panels, rock guards, touch up and paint the doors as well as clean up the inside. Still little things to do.

Also need to bleed brakes, install NOS review mirror, check fuel sending gauge in tank w/a spare I have to see if the gauge registers.

I am taking the exhaust to a guy in town to do. I bought all the stuff and returned it because he can do it for the same price and probably better.

So in the mean time I did drive it around the property here and washed it :)

Finally got my supertop all pieced together,
bought the complete slightly bent and rusted hardware for around $30,
bought just the top canvas for around $100...in really good shape,
bought the 3 windows (tinted) for around $65...like new.
took me 3-4 months to gather everything I needed....E-Bay is awesome.

Got my electric choke working.......well for at least today it works lol

Installed a new aftermarket temp gauge after getting tired of stock temp. C-H indication really messes with an OCD person.

I fabricated a new radiator mount. ....I know what you're thinkin, but, :ranton: the old ghetto-fab trash that was on there before was causing the left headlight to short out and it blew out the dimmer switch a while back. The root of the problem was that the rad wasn't centered between the frame rails for some reason (PO's work) :rantoff:. I cut the steel 1.5 x 3 channel out that was welded to the frame and the 1/2" dia steel threaded rods as well... and fabbed up a new one with aluminum. Honestly, I've never really looked at how a stock CJ radiator mounts to the vehicle, but I suspect the stock method doesn't work when you have a 1-piece front clip . so I winged it ;)

This is a random question, does your hard doors close flush when you have your soft top on? Mine do not......great looking jeep!

Worked on my BESRK inspired rear bumper/tire carrier build, bumper is attached on, tire carrier build will begin next week.

I had to remove my stock tire carrier to allow for the spindle for the new tire carrier to be mounted on, the spare tire is in the jeep at the moment, and I built a bar out of thinwall box tube to hold my license plate until i get the new tire carrier built. the thing on the spindle is a heavy ziploc type bag put over and zip tied on, to keep the spindle clean.

"redneck" paint booth

Set up a "redneck" paint booth in my garage using an Ez Pop up and 2mil painters drop plastic. Fans at front and back. Not filtered but worked fairly well. Primed the tub. rolled it out and hung the doors, grill etc off wome wire from a board layed between two ladders.
