Bought an '02, was my first jeep:

Buuuttt..... it was a manual. Even though my wife 'can' drive stick, she hates it. With a passion. She told me before I bought this jeep she'd drive it, but it wasn't long before I heard 'jokes' about trading it for an auto.

Well, I realized that an auto would be better for her, and I could downgrade and have some money for the fun stuff. We both win :)

Enter the '97:

Got it about 2 weeks ago.

Got a deal on some UPOL for $100, so that was first:

Looking good. How do you like the BDS 3" so far? Better yet, how does the wife like the lift so far. Has she been driving it?

She hasn't driven it really. I think I'll throw the rear sway on at least and align it. The BDS stuff has been flawless, even with no bumpstops. The passenger shock is fully compressed in this pic I snapped yesterday after reassembly:

No trans fluid on the floor today!

Seem to be missing pics of the trans work you did on page 2... would like to see that (maybe it's just my browser gone tarded).

Long time since any updates, here we go!

Terrible "clunk" from passenger side when steering/falling off rocks. No swaybar on the thing, so as I suspected the trackbar mount hole on the axle had 'wallowed' out:

The hole in the rear was even worse.

I bought a new trackbar (at first I thought the bushing on mine was shot, who knows, but it can't hurt to replace it). I bored out the bushing a bit to 7/16", the mount holes too, and got a 7/16" bolt to replace the torx stocker.

New toy in the garage:

As you may know the stock nut has a tab that makes it easier to tighten, you don't have to hold it with a wrench as it just wedges against the bracket while you tighten. I wanted to try to copy that:

Cleaned off the nut too:

Give me a break, it's the third time I've welded ever-

In with red loctite and bubba torque:

No more clunk!

Oh, and had to get this:

Thanks for checking out my heep :)
