New guy with questions about Cherokee purchase

Hopefully this is the right place. Name is Craig from High Hill, MO. Longtime Jeep lover, possibly first time buyer.

Partner of mine has a 98 Cherokee (105XXX), he is wanting to sell due to a divorce. It has a small rip in the drivers seat, and some very minor scratches on exterior. It is black, with a brush guard (not sure the type, but looks very sturdy/nice), 3" lift, and 31X10.50's on it. All glass is in tact, and is overall a very good driving/looking vehicle.

My question, is there anything I should know about this year model, or anything else that has been a problem on these, that I could look forward to dealing with? Anything I should look for before purchasing?

He is asking $2500. Is this a good price? He has owned it since new, and I know it has only seen beaches, and some mediocre trails with it. A lot of back and forth from MO, to GA.

Thank you in advance. I apologize for any improper terms in regards to the Cherokee.

That's a great price as long as it runs ok. 98 is one of the best years with the fewest problems. Ask him if it has ABS and its better if it doesn't.

I'd say to snatch it up quick before someone else gets wind of that price.

Yeah that's an awesome price. IMO, it woud be worth picking up period even if there is a small problem. In my neck of the woods (NorthWest) a 97-01 XJ with under 125,000 miles will usually sell from anywhere between 4500-6000. Go for it .
