well, still relatively new to the forum, but figured I'd start posting about my new project. Just bought a 1994 jeep wrangler for the ripe price of 2600$. As far as jeeps go, she's got an average amount of rust, body and interior were in great shape, and it came with a lift and brand new tires. As far as I'm concerned, that's half the price of the YJ. Anyway, my major plans are to get her to restored order which entails wire wheeling and repainting the frame, body work and repaint using John Deere blitz black, monstaliner in the tub, new brakes and maybe an 8.8 in her future, and last but not least, a cummins 4bt diesel mated to a GM SM465 tranny. Here are some pics before I started ripping her apart.

As you can see, the last owner felt like taking the jeep for a joyride into a pole. Pole-1, jeep-0. Fenders are the first to go. Metal cloak arched fenders in the mail.

Looks like a good project, wish I had a garage to work on mine.....I have to work on the front lawn between rain drops....haha. My next house WILL have a garage already warned the wife!

Continuing to work on the jeep today, I managed to get the front grille off, but ended up snapping the screw that mounts at the bottom clean in half! Any ideas to remove the other half in the actual grille piece? Ive already been soaking the thing in PB Blaster and was heating it up prior to removal but no go. I also was wondering what the best solution to clean out the contacts from some of the junctions of the wiring harness shown in the pics below. Theres a lot of crud and gunk in there and wanted to give the terminals a good cleaning without messing up the harness.*

new fenders and bikini top question

so got the new fenders for the rebuild and the dudes forgot the hardware...figures.

but i did have a question about best-top bikini tops though. they have a traditional bikini top that says it only works on a 91 and lower. were the yj bodies different or can i just buy this and put it on my 94?

the only different is the pre 91 roll cages where the sport bar and not the family style like you have im not to sure if it will work im pretty sure that they hook on differently but i may be wrong

progress!

So have not posted in a while but the build goes well but slow. the paint for the frame finally got here due to one breaking in the mail. but the part of frame that i painted today with the chassis saver looks great. expect to finish the rest of the front of the frame. my paint for the fenders came in as well and hope to have them primed and painted tomorrow. pictures to follow. still looking for an answer on how to clean the contacts in those connections for the wiring harness, so any help will be much appreciated. the top and all accessories in order to start prepping the body and tub for the bed liner. pictures to follow tomorrow.
