I guess the original owner of the Trails Rd thread got sick of people posting BS that had nothing to do with access to Trails Rd, the use of it, how to work to keep it open for use. :nono:

Since Trails Rd. is still going to get used regardless of whether or not the thread is here, let's start it back up again and keep it rolling. Think the thread was a good place for people to meet up and talk about the conditions on Trails, post what they tackled on Trails Rd, what it took to run it, and definitely etiquette to the landowners around trails (important!), etc.

So we know it can be run by a STOCK Jeep/rig and it's challenging enough for even a modified one to make things interesting.

Google maps puts it here: http://goo.gl/maps/ckR6

Oh yeah, good point. :p

i see him using "nutsack" as a term of endearment. Dont see kev being the type of guy to write hate mail to the lady of even yell out the window as he drives by, as for grow up i believe he's twice your age

I'm just a newbie but until people start documenting and coming up with specific cases as to who in thread is "ruining" it, I'd say there's no use getting you're panties in a knot. Some of the locals were chatting it up with us last time I went...and there were about 6 of us sitting there...plus I keep hearing people say that the locals are ok as long as we maintain a civilized event. I don't understand why, all of the sudden, everyone is "ruining" it....but I like to argue so don't mind me :D

Calling the lady a nutsack is the kinds of things that are gonna ruin it for everybody. Grow up
I agree, that lady has every right to get mad at 15 jeeps driving down her driveway Every weekend, I live a mile down the road of the trail so I don't it shut down. If you are trying to go down try not to announce it to the whole forum. Send PM's because if it gets announced everyone comes

This is no offroad park, it's a local family trail for alot of people

Yeah, think we're tracking. If I got upset for every vehicle that drove down the street at my driveway I'd be constantly pi$$ed.

Didnt you say that you talked with some of the people there? Any chance of improving relations? Some kind of agreement?

That just it. People do think and are concerned about keeping peace with the landowners while still being able to access it. And yet again, that is in part why this thread should be here - to let people know the do's and don'ts.

I don't think anyone here is disputing that it makes sense that it's not a trail ride and that they don't want to see 15 Jeeps roll thru. But also, so many people go down that road, personally, I think it would be better for the Jeepers and others to know they need to respect the landowners by sticking to the (Trails) road, going SLOW past peoples homes, to tread lightly, not tear hell out of things or even think about going on Private Property. We shouldn't have an 'us against them mentality' even if some people there do. If people read this and spread the word, maybe it will sink in that if they don't respect what they have, it's going to be taken away. This includes any place that is still free and public to offroad. E.G., GWNF. They've closed a lot of trails down there because people don't stick to the trails or they haven't mastered the whole brain-right foot disconnect thing that happens when their tires hit the dirt.

It's kind of ironic that you started the original thread to set up a ride through Trails years ago, but then delete it later because you feel people abuse it and now you want to tell people not to use it at all or even talk about it. You're starting to sound like the mean lady. Just sayin'. Wheelers outside your little box know about Trails Rd and with or without anyone's consent will more than likely use it. Would it not be better to spread the word just to take it easy and learn to just have some respect to the people that live there and the road itself?

Krash, you are wise beyond your years. Agreed 100%.

#123 ·
Gotta remember he started the thread for that ride and didn't figure it to be as big with people as it was. So he has the right to act that way and defend that trail.

I read earlier in this thread that this is gov. owned public property. The only way the trail could be closed off is by the gov. If the locals do end up getting really upset about it they would have to get a petition going and what not. I would just see it as to much of a headache for people to go through all that and wait for it to go up the chain and come back. I'm not saying go ahead and abuse the privlege and piss off people. Just stating that the gov. would have to be the ones to close it off.

In the town of delta most people take things in their own hands, ex. 2x4 with nails. just keep the locals happy!

Oh I agree 100% but hell if I ever hit a 2x4 with nails when my FBI buddy rides with me, I don't think he'd take to kindly to that. Especially doing that on gov. property. I wonder what could happen to the person that does that

Lol I know a few guys in it. It's what I'm going to school for soon as I get my degrees it's off to Quanico. But I understand that some of the locals do get mad, but 2x4s with nails is taking it to far. Like this lady you all are talking about. Reminds of this lady that sat outside of her house when we patrolled on our route in Iraq, she'd wait for us to come by and start yelling infidel at us.

What do you do in the navy? I just got out of the marines in oct. we did a deployment with the navy on a meu i was on the uss ashland got us some pirates while we were out near samolia, then had the uss nassau and uss mesa verde with us, but yeah it would be pretty cool, i'm here in mechanicsburg, yesterday i saw a few lifted wranglers while i was out drivin around. I wonder if they're on the forum.

I'm USMS (Merchant Marines) I'm at the Academy right now but i just got back from 4 months at sea. We're the ones who keep getting attacked by the pirates because 90% of the ships we are on can't carry weapons. Though when they make a mistake and attack that other 10% we get to use the bridge wing M2s :2thumbsup:
