Hey guys, just got back from Jeep Week and had a great time. I got there saturday for the show and went on the ESJA land tour today. It was awesome and I can't wait until next year. Some constructive criticism about the show though...the website said the judges would be familiar with 4wd vehicles in general but when I heard the winner of best in class Wrangler i had to laugh. Anybody who took a good look underneath will know what I'm talking about.

Here are a couple pics from the land tour, and a big thank you to the guys at ESJA who put it on. It's quite a hike for me to get there but the land was awesome so membership is something I'm seriously considering. Even though the last mud hole claimed my electric fan. :crying:

Nice camera work Toms87!!!

Thanks to all who attended. This was a great event especially for having a 3 week lead time to get it together. A HUGE thanks goes out to SACK from Broken Wing Productions and Will from the Commander!

This will only get bigger from here on out. Everybody who was there can now say they were at the 1st annual Jeep Week!! :highfive:

I think this show has the potential to be bigger than the York show. If ESJA continues to offer their "land tour" to participants, that would be a huge selling point. Some shows don't even have RTI ramps but this one has actual trail riding AND a show and shine. Something for everybody and every jeep. Plus it's in OC and the bar specials we got with the wristbands were awesome. Lazy Lizard was a cool place, good wings, and we got a free basket of shrimp at Hooper's and it was only 3 bucks for a stadium cup filled with sunset wheat (or any draft) with $2 refills!!

I'll also add that the Commander hotel was surprisingly a pretty nice place. I'd stay there again.

It has taken a while, but we have finally collected everybody's photos from the event. We will get them up on the Ocean City Jeep Week web page soon, but in the mean time here are the links. The photo links both contain photos from the ESJA land tour on Sunday, the Jeep show on Saturday and the picnic on Assateague Island on Friday. We had just shy of 180 vehicles registered so needless to say we are extremely happy for this first year. Thank you to all of those who attended and we sincerely hope to see everybody back here in 2011.

Cool pictures, we are looking forward to next year already. Let us know if you need any help and we will continue to pass on the word to customers coming in the shop.

Is there a thread for 2011's Jeep Week yet? If not, one of you ESJA guys needs to start one! 6+ months should be enough advanced notice to make the show bigger and better.

Here is my video from 2010. There was another one from an ESJA guy (inca gold jeep i think) but it is gone from youtube for some reason.

This is already on page 3, along with some pictures.

Good idea. I have been talking with sac (owner of broken wing productions) about next year's show. Once I get some hard info on some of the plans I will post up a new thread.

Again that's an awesome vid! Also its on ESJA main page :2thumbsup: http://www.easternshorejeep.com/

One of the things they has issues with is they couldnt sell anything in the HD parking lot. We (DOR) came with the buggy but were told that is about as much as we could do as a shop. If they could find an area to have the show and allow vendors it would work a lot better financially. We love to help out with local shows as it helps to show case some of our work and we can really get a feel for the local markets through them. Needless to say if the event happens again you will see us there!

I know a few guys that write for the big magazines and I am sure we could get an article if the event happens.

From my understanding that was at the request of HD.

We pretty much have covered everything you have talked about toms87. haha

We will probably have a vendor/club booth @ PA jeeps to promote. We would have last year but we weren't even approached before last years PA show to promote the OC show. The BBQ that was sponsored by the fire department @ Assateague was expensive. So I know for a fact sack will be interested in a less expensive alternative.

The biggest hurdle will be actually getting a solid location for the show. HD of OC is closed. They have moved in with HD of Seaford. Sack has been trying to find a location for next years show.

The one thing we got going for us in regards to the boardwalk parade is that Sack used to work for the Bike week guys and was president for them for quite a while. He actually got the approval for bikes on the boardwalk. With some work... and some time (politics) Jeep week will have a parade on the boardwalk.

I have to tell you, in my honest opinion, with them replacing the worn out boardwalk next year, i think its gonna be hard to get the jeeps on the new boardwalk.... Bikes dont weigh that much and the vets are pretty light was well and without our knobby tires... just my thought... I would love to see it how it is in Miami and jeeps on the beach in OC

#59 ·
We don't have plans anytime soon to get the boardwalk access. Like I said its going to take time to get that kinda access.

Beach access would be even harder to obtain.

Yeah 2011 Jeep week is a GO!!!!

John, owner of Big dogs off road park wants to help out how ever he can.

The name probably will change to "Delmarva Jeep Week" just because we are going to have events not just in Ocean City.

Plans are for a picnic, show n shine, scavenger hunt, ESJA land tour in Delmar, and Pocomoke wheelin run. We have an obstacle course in Pocomoke including rocks, tires, mud, and we will try to get some cars to crush too. :2thumbsup:

Sack is working on a location for the show n shine. Most likely it will be in the same place last year. We are working on locking that in place as of now.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Show only?

Trail ride?

Picnic?

Obstacle course?

I know we plan on having 1 event each day. Were not sure which days certain events will happen. I would wait until the full schedule of events gets posted. We hopefully will have that done soon.

Would LOVE to attend this. Hopefully someone would accompany me...
