Welcome to the forum!! Well one thing you're doing right and that's starting a build thread. I can't say how much good it's done me to have one for mine. Lots of great folks on here that will have a very useful info for you. Takes lots of pictures of everything you do. Also when you take the CJ apart treat every part as if it was the very last one ever made and the only one in existance. It's a good idea to not tackle taking everything apart at first. Seperate the tub and frame then start on the frame and rebuild it then move on to other areas. Will be looking forward to watching what you do.

PICTURES PICTURES and oh yeah PICTURES!

Not only for our enjoyment, but for your help. Take plenty of pictrues of how everything gets taken apart. If you have a digital camera it will be an invaluable rescource. Start a folder and label and date it when you do something major (I.E. removal of the engine, body etc.) and keep track of parts. Get a box of sandwich bags and label them with bolts as you take them out. I know you are thinking 'what do I need old bolts for?' it will help when you go to re assemble and you need to replace bolts or find something out about them.

I look back on my build that I did in 1990 and a few things come to mind.

Put together a budget, as funny as that sounds.

Communicate said budget with significant other, if applicable.

Double budget, communicate with significant other

Recalculate budget to account for tools, communicate with significant other

Double budget again, communicate with significant other

Tuck tail and run

See where this is going? Seriously the hardest part for me was making sure I separated time and money from life and the build. Enjoy your build
