Today I sold my YJ. Here's one last shot of it....

I decided to close my build thread for the YJ, because it would just make me sad to keep looking back at it everytime someone posted something there, now it can slowly fade away...

I always wanted a Rubicon, and was able to aquire this one:

It's first dirt....lol.

It's a 2006, Automatic, air, cruise, 6-disc CD, Canadian model. Being from Canada it has daytime running lights, that you can't just turn off. It had the instrument panel swapped out when it crossed the border as well. It had around 27,800 miles on it when I picked it up, and the MTR's were wore pretty good, so new shoes will be coming soon.

I decided he milk jugs needed to go asap....

Now you see them....

Now you don't.

They don't even look good laying in the grass.

My customary night shot.

I didn't waste anytime taking it wheeling, this was @ The Badlands.

The only "mod" I've done so far is getting a set of Husky Liner's for the interior. I had them in the YJ and loved them.

Now that the YJ is gone, and I have a few bucks to spend, I'll be making some more changes in the very near future. This build will be more towards how I actually wheel, based on what I learned over the last 3 1/2 years with the YJ. I probably won't go as tall as I had before. This will be my daily driver and see trails on occassion...maybe 6 times a year on average.

Monday! Oh man, I wish.

The LoD rear bumper is on. The four crossmember bolts were not used. The two brackets the bolts went through are welded directly to the cross member, as is the reciever hitch. The two frame bolts were used, but I also had those tabs welded to the frame. This bumper isn't coming off unless it has to.

The top of the bumper is now flush with the top of the crossmember, and the spare no longer rubs on the bumper.

I'll get a few pics up later.

I saw my old YJ tonight, for the first time since I sold it. My Rubi was no longer a shorty, compared to it...

I swear I posted this earlier, but now it's not here......anyway....

I added a little something to the Jeep today.

A close-up....

As soon as it gets painted.

The shop was real busy when I dropped them off, and I told him I just wanted to be able to have everything on before March.

I stopped in today and everything is in paint. I should have everything by Friday. If I do get everything I should have the bumper on this weekend. The rockers will take a bit longer.....need someplace better than my garage to do those.

I got my reimbursement check from Chrylser today. They paid me back the entire $147.00 I was charged to swap out the OPDA cam gear. I was honestly only expecting half.

On a side note, haven't had any sqealing since the day after the gear swap, and like I said that was very minimal and went away quickly.

I plugged my block heater in, for the first time, last night. It warmed up sooooo much faster this morning. Me likey. Almost forgot it had one, probably wouldn't even have noticed it if not for my build sheet.

10" of snow on my street this morning.....not a plow in sight.

The Jeep itching to hit the road, and it did, with ease.

On the job, in the Rubicon.

I wish I had my Jeep and those road conditions  So, are you going to do the Rubi locker bypass? Then you could lock the rear for when the snow hits that hard :)

#524 ·
I was actually thinking about that today, but it did great as is. I went down lots of unplowed roads, busted drifts all over the place....had a great day at work. :D

You used your Jeep for work today? Nice. I had a similar experience when I was home for break. My grandmother's driveway was over my bumper with snow and it just climbed up her driveway like it was nothing (rock driveway with a square turn towards the end and loose item 4 on a steep incline). Gotta love our Jeeps :)

Had too, my Tahoe couldn't get out of my drive until around 3pm, and even if it would have made it out of the drive it wouldn't have gone much further, since it's 2wd.

One of the other guys at work had is JK Rubicon out on patrol too....good times.

I sure hope they reimbursed you by the mile. Sounds like good times. Our local PD had some Cherokees for a while. Better than trying to get a crown vic through the snow. They ended up replacing them with a few WJ and WKs over time, but they don't have all that many.

I was happy with a full tank of gas, and getting paid to "wheel"...

#529 ·
Heck, that would have made me happy too.

#530 ·
I'm going to pick up the bumper and rockers after work tomorrow. :)

#533 ·
My parts are going to have some gloss to them, to hopefully match the rear LoD. I guess I'll see later today.

#534 ·
The Rokmen Mercenary front bumper is on, as is my Superwinch. Pictures will be up shortly. :D

I picked up the bumper and sliders after work, wasted no time getting the winch on the bumper.

I also wasted no time getting the old bumper off and the new one mounted up.

After wiring up the winch I spooled the line on, but not under load.

A little HDR so the winch will show a little better in the darkness.....

Here's a shot with the flash on....

After taking these shots I found me an anchor point and spooled the line on under load.

I had no problems with the install at all, went smooth as silk. I'll get some more shots when it's daylight.

The sliders will have to wait a little while longer.

looks very nice jeff, love the bumper
Thanks....I hope the slider install goes as smoothly. I know I can't do it in my garage though. :(
