Mopar side steps

I picked up a v8 Overland last weekend after a little bit of a wait after ordering. I have been fairly loyal to Nissan's previously but Jeep did an excellent job with the GC. I have learned a lot here as well; the forum is a great resource.

I am thinking about buying the side steps from Mopar to help the kids. All the pictures I could find are from a distance so it is hard to see any detail. Does anyone have these yet and what do you think of the quality? Any close-up pictures if you do have them would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinkng of them also, but only to help with the rock chips that hit the spot in front of the rear tire. I noticed that Jeep installed a piece of the 3M clear protector there. In my area they use a heavy aggragate along with the salt and its chipping at the protector, paint above it, and the plastic flare. And yes I have the mudflaps!

Just got back from the dealer and they had several with the side-steps installed. All were chrome. I noticed immediately that there was some play in the black plastic tread pieces. When I stepped on the black part (or even pushed down on it with my hand), the sides of the plastic piece sort of spread and moved down on the chrome a bit. I was not impressed, but then again I'm pretty nitpicky when it comes to stuff like this.

Thanks for the pic and feedback guys. I finally saw a set in person (not installed) and they looked to be quality and the price is not bad. I am ordering a set of the black ones shortly.

Radside the chrome looks great with those wheels.

The dealer gave me 15% off the $824 list price. (I think the labor charge was for 2 hours) It took much longer than that for them to install. The rails come with a special tool and bolt through the frame. When I went to pick up the Jeep, the service manager was saying how much of a pain in the butt it was for his tech to install. (but these are literally "rock solid")
