So I have done alot of work to my new 1994 Jeep Cherokee SE (183,xxx 4.0L) and I have noticed that the only fluid leaking is a clear fluid under the right front hub/brake. I put a box under to watch it overnight and I cant figure out where it is coming from. I think it may be from the front axle/hub, but I wasnt sure what would be leaking then... I dont see the brakes leaking so I am thinking axle.
My question, is this possible, do you agree, and how do I fix it?
Yea, it means that your axle seal is failing and diff fluid is leaking out. Depending on how bad it is you can just keep adding more fluid to top it off every now and then. Or its time to replace the axle seal, which you should go ahead and do both sides if thats the case
Just the price of the seals and diff fluid if you have the tools already. Not too bad if you know what you're doing
