I need your help! This doesnt happen every time, but after driving for 10 mins or more and say I stop for gas it wont start up again. Its cranking and cranking but no go. If I wait a few mins sometimes it will start. some times it wont start for an hour.I cheaked and I have fuel pressure. Any ideas? Please help me out.
I don't know if this helps... my 2001 has a warm start problem linked to thermal vapor lock .... your title says 89 but your profile says 99.. I would guess on the 89 this wouldn't be relevant as I suspect the injectors/fuel delivery may be different, but I would bet the 99s have that problem too. There is actually a Tech Service Bulletin on it that recommends installing insulators on the injectors to help stop them vapor-locking.....
Thoughts anyone??
Once it starts does it kind of "chug" like it's not really getting enough gas, until you hit the gas a couple of times then it settles down?? That is the symptom on mine...
Sorry guys I do have a 99 and just picked up a 89. I am going to order a new CPS tomorrow and see if there is a differance.
