I have searched to no avail. I swear I have seen a JK that someone mounted a winch behind the stock bumper with some trimming. Has anyone done this here? Pics appreciated
I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but here are some threads I found by searching for "winch stock bumper JK" on the forum. I'm considering this route too so I'm doing a little researching since I won't be able to buy front and rear bumpers for two years.
was wondering how you made your front bumper into a stubby ive seen people shorten them using rivits but i cant see rivits in your pics and was wondering how you did it to look so clean two thumbs up looks great
that is exactly how I want it mounted sharkbite. I have a yj with a smittybuilt winch plate and wonder if it will fit the jk like yours. Both the winch and plate are brand new, I just did not think I would be getting a jk, nice work
You cut the plastic cover so that you can fold it back and plastic "weld" (solder) it back together at the seams. A little bumper repair epoxy smoothed in and sanded and it comes out pretty good.
I know this thread is way old, but I would like to attempt the plastic welding that you did, Sharkbite - I tried PM'ing you, but your mailbox is full... :S
Could I get those instructions from you to plastic weld, please?
Thanks!
