While taking out the trans on my parts jeep, I noticed all the springs in the center are broken except one. I cant testify on how the jeep drove, but I know what brand I will not be using. It had Luk stamped on the pressure plate.

That stands for "Lots-a-Luk" brand.

Seriously though, what a piece of junk. I have never seen a pressure plate that bad. I just put a new clutch pack into my '84 this week, and it made a world of difference in driveability. However, after about 90K on the original with all kinds of oil leaks on it, I was surprised how well it was actually still working. It still did not look as bad as the one you showed.

I've pulled disks with no friction surface left, rivets gone, springs gone, pressure plate springs gone, bent arms, forks, flywheels so shredded it was cheaper to replace than to try to cut them. These ranged from stock to high end specialty units.
Broken springs are not uncommon on old used disks. The springs are used to ease the jolt of the disk engaging the flywheel. They also cushion the drivetrain a bit, softening changes in engine input. Breakage is usually caused by "dumping" the clutch or an excessively heavy foot.
Personally, I have had great success with LUK clutches.
