Did some wheelin in North Georgia this weekend. Theres a place called Cochran's Fall just to the east of Amicalola Falls and theres a little offroading required to get there. It was a blast. Anyone else ever wheeled there? Its off FS 288. Ill post some pics tommorow.

The site is http://trails.firstworks.com but the site servercrashed. The guy that runs the site said when he got back he would move it to another server. Hopefully within a week. Glad you guys came along. Anytime you want to wheel let me know, I'm in.

The guy that runs the site, David, sent me this email:

Hi Gary,

The server hosting the site crashed super hard a few days back. That server will b e replaced mid-january. I'm out of town for the holidays but when I get back in the ATL I should be able to get the site back up on another server in the interim.

Sorry about the downtime and thanks for the kind words about the site.

Take care,

Dave

Keep checking the web page, its worth it.

Now that you mention it, I recall you saying the site was down (old age is murder on the brain cells).

Someone mentioned Trays Mountain. Sounds like a good time to me. Now that college football season is over, I've got nuttin but free weekends until August.

great pics all. thanks a bunch for posting them. next time I will bring my camera and return the favor...

so is it just dirt roads up there with some small puddles or what? Looks fun nontheless...

It was a little more than that. One branch of the road had some decent ruts to negotiate while avoiding the 100 ft drop. The other branch (the one that lead to the puddle) had 50-60 yd stretch of ice that was a couple inches thick and very slick (again with the requisite 100 ft drop into the abyss).

RubiOR,

Thanks for the pics. I signed in to send you a PM to see if you had any pics of my green TJ.

For those of you who weren't there the green TJ with the hard top (3rd & 4th from the bottom of RubiOR's series of pics in post #37), is completely stock with 31" Uniroyal all weather tires and driven by one of my 19 year old son's who was on his first ever wheelin excursion. The dark blue TJ pic that follows is his twin brother driving his own TJ (first time for him too).

Thanks to all who attended for helping make it a great trip.

RubiOR,
Thanks for the pics. I signed in to send you a PM to see if you had any pics of my green TJ.
I posted all I have on the phone. I tried to get at least one of everyone but my fingers froze a couple of times & I missed my shot :-/

I will as soon as I can! Sounds like a great time! I'm working on getting mh 8.8 swap underwater and then I can join you guys :)

I definitely missed a shot or two due to frozen fingers but I'm glad I got the ones you were looking for. I wish I'd taken one of Clay's front bumper with the ice piled high!

I just pulled the trip off of my Garmin. You can see it here: Garmin Connect -Player for Wheelin' at Amicalola
It's too bad the Google maps aren't detailed enough to show the ruts on Old Bucktown Rd.

Looks like fun. I wish I had gotten internet set up early enough to see these posts. We moved to the Fayetteville area right after Christmas, but didn't get internet working until this past Saturday. :(

If ya'll decide to head up that way some weekend, post up - I'd like to tag along.

Hey Clay,
you've spent some time on the trails up that way. Are there any up there that would be more fun than Tray Mountain? I think it would be fun but was wondering if you have been on others up that way that you would suggest.

And shoot me a PM if you need a hand with the CJ repairs before the 6th.

The 13th is good for me also. gives me some more time. its been to damn to turn wrenches on a jeep. I have done a few trails up there it might take me a little to track them back down though. Corbin creek rd is a good trail it has been a long time though. Sorry I cant send or receive Pm.s my membership has expired and Im broke as my cj. I will check in here for updates. Lets try for the 13 if thats ok with enough people. Tell your other halfs that what you want for V day.

I'm sorry I won't be able to ride along :-( We're heading to the circus that day. Let's get the Big Yellow Brick lifted up on one of these warm days though so I can be ready for the next run!
