I recently was able to purchase a 91 MJ Eliminator with 138k on a 4.OL. Cab is pretty decent bed needs some work. It runs excellent, however I am looking for help with one problem. I definitely need some new shocks/coils. It is rather bouncy when I hit a ruff road. I was thing of replacing rear leafs/front coils and shocks. I am not necessarily looking for a lift although I would not mind a small one. What would be the best and most cost effective way to go?

well you could get coils from a v8 grand cherokee, and maybe a 1" spacer, get the rear leafs re-arched, and add 4 longer shocks should give you a decent looking stance and clear 31's

make sure they are from a v8 ZJ though, any pics?

Your springs are most likely just fine and your shocks are toast. Get some decent gas charged shocks and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the info. As far as the lift, do you need SYE or to drop transfer case? Just wondering. I will post some pics as soon as I can.
I have a 3 inch Rancho on mine and didn't need the SYE. If I had it to do over again OME HD 3 inch front springs and Rusty's 4 inch rear Leafs. I have 31's and the fronts rub a bit.

No. Cherokees do, but MJs have a foot more wheelbase and can go ~5" with the stock driveshaft. Be aware that U-joints do not like to have their operating angles changed and it is advised to change those if you add lift.
