Looking to hook up with some beginning to intermediate off-roaders in the San Diego area.

I am a newb to jeeping but not to common sense. I bought a jeep to try, and if I like it I will buy another and give this one to my daughter.

I am truly a quick learner and looking for other beginners or some old salt that is just willing to share the wisdom of their experience.

I would like to go jeeping at least once a month and of course more during the learning stages.

Currently, fire roads are all I have found around hear and a few construction areas.

What I am proposing is that all the way south newbs UNITE... if we can find some old salts to come along we can all learn faster. But I say lets get this thing rolling...

WHO IS WITH ME....?

Current jeep is

88 YJ
31x10.5.15 BFG ATs
I6 258 carbed
Pretty good condition but I am replacing all the parts that should have been replaced ages ago. (Hoses/clamps/Top etc...)
(The jeep sat for 3 years so I'm shaking out all the cobwebs...)

Oh yea I got your roll alright! Especially you kicking out the window and beatin on it. You got that reverse thing fixed yet? How are your shifting skills? Matt that mud pit was all blocked off when I went last I think we pissed off the neighbors! hahaha

Did you call for the transmission yet? (Matt)

I think the owners name is chris, he is the one to deal with...

If you have any problems let me know, He does not want me at his shop watching him work on my Jeep again.

Jeff, I called the tranny place, I'm going to take it in on Fri, and leave it there for the weekend which sucks (unless it really is just a quick fix, then I'll get it Sat). While i'm up there I should go by the CB place you know and pick up a new antenna though....I'll bring either Nate or Cameron and make sure they get one too...

Going to be running Sidewinder out at Corral Caynon this Saturday. Meeting at 4 Corners Trailhead around 8:30-9.

It can be run without a lot of lift and no lockers. It's a good beginning moderate trail for people in the Socal area who want to build their confidence and skill on the rocks.

So far got a few XJ's going and just wanted to extend the invite to anyone else.

If you need better directions or anything just let me know.

I just went up to nate harrison again. Its pretty dry now, i went like a little less than halfway up the mountain. Even got stuck, wich was scaryyy because it was just me and my friend in the jeep, no other vehicles. Stupid me forgot to put it in 2wd before goin down it, but it engaged and i made it down. First time bein stuck.
