Drivetrain Swap

Hello,

I'm in the process of setting in the engine/trans/transfer case to find the exact location to weld the motor mounts (going from I-4 to I-6). I have an AW-4 and 231 TC and one thing that I noticed when setting everything in is that the drive shaft does not appear to line up exactly with the output of the TC. Is this a problem? Rear axle is a Ford 8.8 and I have an SYE and CV drive shaft.

I didn't notice it much before and it's definitely not an extreme angle or anything, but wasn't sure when I set everything in if I need to adjust the tranny mount to get it to point more at the yoke of the 8.8. I'm assuming I don't because of the CV but wanted to make sure before I have everything welded and bolted in place.

Thanks!

Cool, appreciate everyone's response. The PO installed the 8.8, and this is my first engine/trans swap. I figured it wasnt a problem but wanted to Check Didn't think about it or even notice until I had everything lined up.

I mocked it up in place. I had motor/trans/tc lifted and aligned where everything fit best. I was going with the ford Taurus fan so I pushed the engine fairly close to the firewall. Not too close but just tried to maximize space for fan (it's still tight though). Made sure drive line was lined up and had someone burn the mounts in.
