This thread is to serve as an inspiration to others modifying their ZJ's. Pretty simple, just post what you did to your ZJ today!

Today I shamefully took my Jeep to get the oil changed because it was to hot to change it myself.

Put two newish 31" Bfg a/ts on the back. Then took it 30 miles to the movies and on the way home the front end started making a whirring noise. I thought well ill check it out when i get home. About 3mi from home i hear a loud pop followed by loud whining, so i pull it over to the shoulder then at about 10mph the front end grenaded so i got a buddys truck and trailer, got it home then back off the trailer. So now i need a d30 3.73

5 screws to remove (2 for the caliper, 3 for the hub), the hardest part is to remove the hub from the knuckle...
Well yeah, but does the new boot just stretch over the end of the CV axle or do you split the CV joint? I've changed plenty of CV axles, but don't really want to spend $80 for a new one when a $15 boot kit will fix it. My CV isn't making any noise (yet) but I'd like to get that done before winter hits.

You have to split the CV.

Just went out and ground/sanded the bit of rust from underneath my back carpet, then hit it with rattlecan rust treatment. Go out later for another coat or two, then the primer and paint.
Found the leak underneath the rear external "vents", I took them off and found a little tiny rubber plug had come loose from a hole under there.

Gonna paint the vents while I've got them off, as well as reseal the little louvered vent that is in there.

I installed my 4.0Litre badge I saved from my 89XJ in the proper location on the hatch. I also fixed my dead drivers door speaker and put new clips on both front door panels. They had them at our little TruValue store. They have everything imaginable.

Luckey....I might put $20. Good thing I live close to work, almost so close its bit worth it to start it! But that's Jus crazy talk there. ;)
Lol, my check this week was $214. My share of rent ($100), then $70 to fill up.

I don't go very far either luckily. I live 2miles from work, and my job is driving a tow truck. So there's always a flatbed at my house haha. Still... I wanted to buy something for my Jeep :(

Commission based jobs suckkk. Especially in a tourist based town like the one I live in.

I took another job (just started Wednesday) and took a pay cut. From $1000 a week to $12/hour. Good thing I fixed my Jeep enough for it to be reliable before changing jobs lol

This economy sucks. lol I make more now then I ever have, well maybe not now that the peak season is over, but still cant afford crap haha

Summer and winter I easily make 600-1200 a week. (again commission so it varies a lot) Just spring/fall its so dead. So looks like nothing new for the ole gal for awhile :(

What sucks is I was hoping to buy my RC Winch plate tonight to mount my new winch haha. There goes that plan.

Got 0% of my planned projects done today, thanks to the torrential downpours we got last night and so far today....:rantscream:
Correction:

I did manage to get to the JY and in between downpours I snagged a 136A alternator(from a Caravan, not 100% sure if I can make it work though....), a Dakota air hat, and a Durango console to modify to work in my wife's YJ.

No rain when I got back home so I did the air hat swap. Took about 15 min total, including cutting the hood sub-structure to clear the air hat.
It does rub on the underneath of the hood just a tad, so I'm thinking I might just use some washers between the hood and the hood hinges to give it enough clearance so it won't chafe through.
It's raining again, so that won't be today....

Haven't test driven it yet, but I gotta go to the store soon. Will I notice a difference?

Made a little progress on tearing down my new-to-me 231. Got to the chain and couldn't figure out how to get it off. What's the easiest way to get this chain off?? The chain was so loose on my old 249 I was able to just pull it right off, this one's not so easy...

Oh, and I did go ahead and modify my shifter with the 231 shifter from the xj, now once the swap is done I'll have the correct marker, uh, thing.

It's more noticeable with other mods like exhaust and TB. What is that hose connecting the air hat to the filter box doing?
"Plugging" those two ports until I can get some rubber caps for them tomorrow. Coulda used bubble gum n electrical tape I spose....
