This thread is to serve as an inspiration to others modifying their ZJ's. Pretty simple, just post what you did to your ZJ today!

Today I shamefully took my Jeep to get the oil changed because it was to hot to change it myself.

I managed to not break any when I did e codes in the niner. Wish I had thought to get the clips though.
Everything else is there. It's even wired with resistors so I don't get a bulb out message and it has the 9004 ends on it. So I don't have to cut any of the stock wiring. And at $150 less than buying it all new, I'll deal with some missing plastic clips.

Last night I:
Beefed up the tranny mount .......

Then primed and painted it

Then primed the cross member as well and bolted it in for the 36th time to check clearances for some gussets.....you can see the 3rd link /lower link relationship here...

Then I welded up said gussets, I went polished off the rest of my 2nd 2lb spool this week so I said screw it and through a 10lb roll on...

Took it to a shop where it took 6 hours to do a quoted 1.7 hour steering box replacement. The steering is tight again, except for the upper tie rid ball joint which decided it had finally had it, once we got everything put back together. The steering is also dangerously out of alignment. Seriously, I'm thinking I've got double digits before the tires die at this rate. Also, since I haven't installed the fan yet, you better believe it was a harrowing drive back home in light traffic.

Worked on my replacement door a little more today. Also found some 245/70R17 with WJ Grand Cherokee Rogue Wheels for $400. Tires are Nitto Grapplers. Tread looks pretty good. 1000 times better than my current tires. Now my question is can I get by with 245s on stock suspension just long enough to order my BB in the next few weeks?

Speedbucket, thats some good looking welds to me. Since every weekend here lately is either boiling hot or flooding rain I went in early two days so I could get off early today. Sprinkling rain but it quit. But just as I was about to leave a heat pump bit the dust so I had to replace it. Then high tailed it to the JY while it was kinda cool and not raining. Pulled a alarmed pcm/ bcm combo with the key switches out of the front doors, two silver exhauster vents, front door harnesses, various plugs,an auto dim outside rearview in really good shape,a vacumn harness for manual heater control for $68. Not bad for an afternoon.

Attempted to redo the front brakes after I found the pad had no material left on the inside pad and had eaten into the rotor. Outer pad was ok. Driver side had good pads but I noticed that the steering knuckle had a couple grooves worn in it from the inside pad. PO also left a caliper bolt out. Gotta pick one up and gonna dremel the grooves out of the knuckle tomorrow. Hoping (but doubting) that well resolve my front end noise, thinking carrier bearings :(

Mounted my 33's!! The rears are sittin almost far enough away from the front of the wheel well that I can fit my finger between the well and the tire, and the front rub waaayyyyy bad when turned to full lock. I flattened the pinch seams already but they are rubbin a lot more than just the seams, gonna hafta see if I can figure out how to stop that from happening other wise I may have to go back to the pizza cutters til I can afford to order the front lower adjustable CA's.
