Tired of wanting/ wishing for a 220 welder. Made up My mind im gonna do it! Airgas has the 180 Millermatic on sale for $875. I talked to a salesman and hes trying to talk Me into the Lincoln 180 dual. The more I think about it, the 110/220 would be kinda slick. Wire My garage for 220, but I could also throw it in the back of the truck when We go out of town wheelin. Went over to My buddies fab shop and showed Him the flyer I got from Airgas. He's going to call his supplier and see if He can get Me a 211 miller closer to the price of Airgas's 180. Rather have the 211 with the MVP plug! Wifes not very happy! LOL...

Like I say, no one treatrs me better than me...lol

Me and a buddy of mine each bought a millermatic 180 together. Got a better deal because we each bought one. One of the best investments I have made. We might go in halves on a plasma cutter..

Good luck with you welder. i was also told that miller has a better rep than lincoln. But I always take these rumers with a grain of salt.

Thats how you need to take it too...lol

I've used both for 35 years...no real difference..Miller usualy just has more "Bling" ..

I've used more Lincolns as far as Engine drive machines than any other, they just plain work well...

Its like the old "Ford vs Chevy" debate..neither is better than the other, just a personal preference

Im partial to blue! This is probly going to be the last welder I ever buy. Im going to hold out and get the one My heart is set on. To many times in My life I've settled on something to save a little money and afterward wished I'd gotten what I wanted to begin with.

Hobart and miller are the same company aren't they? I have the miller 140 mig welder good little welder but I'm prolly gonna sell it. It is just top small. I also have a miller bobcat 250 stick welder / generator that is one of the best ones I have ever used. Granted I'm only 17 and haven't used too many welders.

I wouldn't order from Northern again personally. Ordered a plasma cutter from them last week and they got all ****ty with me when I asked if I could get free shipping since I was dropping $700. That was last Thursday and my order still hasn't been processed, let alone shipped. I'd cancel it if it wasn't their store brand. :2c:
I agree with you. The only downside I have seen. I ordered my welder over a week ago and it still hasn't shipped. I got free shipping, a $50 web gift card, and a free cart. So I can't complain too much, yet.

Well, life got in the way, again! Didnt get My welder yet!! Tax's will be comeing in the next week. Got the wife on board now so it will happen in the next couple weeks for sure. I've been finishing My buddies basement for the last few weeks. Bought done with that, so then Im going to start My new tube fenders. Im settling on one of those 211's in the color blue!!

Are you staying flat with your new tubes, or are they going to have a little "Rinking style" thrown in as I would imagine? :D I am going to try to tie mine in to the classic grill hoop/stinger (or just winch guard maybe). We'll see when I get there. My new bender is still in the box waiting for me to get off my butt and get what I need to make it air/hydraulic. I need 30 hours in a day!

Im going to try and do something a little differnt! I dont like making anything that looks like somebody else's! A good buddy of Mine bought a brand new JD3 (I think), with hyd. last winter. He's going to let Me bring it to My house and have My way with it. Been looking for some stock YJ fenders that I can hack up for the inner's, but no luck yet. My stockers are to nice to chop up.

I'm having reservations about cutting mine up too. They are nearly spotless. I am toying with framing out the engine bay with some tube and making my own inners out of some aluminum panels attached to the tube with tabs tapped for small machine screws. It would give me some freedom for change if/when I do a stretch and likely change up my suspension a bit. Maybe just dreaming, but chewin' on some ideas. It never ends, does it.......?

The time has come! I've got my 211 MillerMatic on the way! Hopefully by the end of the week it will be in my garage. I bought all the electrical crap I need to put a 220 plug in My shop. I will have to dismantal My hot tub power box to reclaim some #6-3 wire that Im not using. Really looking forward to this!

I got it!!! Picked it up today! All I could do was take it out of the box and drool for a couple minutes before I had to rush off to a basketball game. Hope to put it together and wire My 220 plug By the end of weekend. I'll never forget this valentines day! LOL.

This welder is sweet! I havnt hooked up My 220 plug yet, so I had to try it out on 110! Screwed around with it for about 20 minutes. Then I realized My tank was out of gas. WTF! Never fails, every time I get something, I have a problem. For what it's worth, I am very pleased with what it will do on 110, on 3/16! The whole no splatter thing is going to be easy to get used to.

Haven't had time yet. Going to do some finishing touchs on My buddies basement this morning, pack up My tools, and hopefully get paid. Then its MILLER TIME!!! Did get My tank replaced with a full one, and in the process, I also received a baby tank that was part of the deal that I didnt get at first delivery. I've been losing sleep not useing it!!! LOL.
