I found a nice waterproof pair from "warmseats" and I want to know..I Have neoprene Seat covers on my Wrangler, my regular seats are torn etc so the covers are "permanent" Can I install the Seat warmers on top of my old seats but under the neoprene covers? or do I need to put them under the seat fabric?

Good Morning from 21 degree Kansas.

Why do you feel that you "need" seat heaters? (Just asking)
The heaters in these Jeeps warm up faster than any other heater I have ever seen.

I had heated seats in my TDI Jettas and felt that it was a necessity because some mornings if traffic was moving slow, the deisel woud take 20 full minutes to get warm...

Oh, I have them in the camaro. The only people that use them are the women.
I think they get too hot. I can't even imagine them in the jeep. The heater is warm in that usually before I hit the end of the street.
I grew up riding motorcycles though so tuning out a certain amount of discomfort is just built in.

OP, I'm not trying to rain on your parade, if you want them it's all good. I was just asking why.

I have heated seats. They were Mod #1! I'd recommend under the factory cloth.

*** warmers put the heat where it is needed most.....esp. when it is -40 outside.

Need and want are two different things - I agree. Seat heaters are a need! lol
Depends on where you live.

You can put them on top of the old seat and under the seat cover. If it's hot enough to melt the neoprene covers, you won't want to be sitting on them.
Depends on where you live.

Heated seats will continue to keep you warm when the top is off.
THIS!! It's amazing how many people don't realize this. Plus, they are noiseless - unlike the heater.

Unless you get ones that suck, they have multi-temp controls so you can put the heat where you like.

Depends on where you live.
So if I still lived in San Diego I wouldn't need them.

Gotcha.

One would NEVER drive to a place colder than where he lives like say go wheeling for a week in Moab, or the Rubicon - where its like 40 degrees in the AM when ya hit the trail doorless or topless.

Makes sense to me. NOT

I installed min for less than 100 bucks off ebay - I got the roller type switch as it looked better than the other switches. It was super easy to rip all apart and put back together. Left the seatbelts intact and had it done in a couple hours (being generous) I live in MN and these heat up faster than the heater does and I seldom use them above the 1st setting. it really helps round out the heat in the cab.
