It seems that most canyons are closed during the winter - does anyone know of any pretty winter trails/drives that we could take when it snows?

:chilly:

I may be able to get out next weekend, as long as someone's willing to pull me out of whatever I can get stuck in. :) This'll be the first trip to the mtns for the JK, all it's seen is Oklahoma mud.

About how long is that run? Turns out that's also the gf's "Awful Horror Movie Night"...basically she has some people come over and drink while watching the worst horror movies any of us can find. I have permission to miss it, but we all know what that means.

Ok sounds good to me! I say the earlier, the better! Is cell towers trail a loop, or do you go to the end and turn around? Skyline drive is a really long trail right? We would just drive it till we couldn't anymore?

The towers is a dirt road to the top of the mountain and then you turn around. So as long as you keep track of how long it has taken you to drive up, you can turn around and make it back in time.

^what John said. Both trails we will drive til we can go no further. Cell towers does have an alternate exit into Saratoga springs but i don't think I'd do it in the snow. From parking lot to the main meadow I'd say maybe an hour or so. Then there are many towers in different areas to see. We can go as early as you guys can stand.

You guys wanting to meet at the chevron/Walmart at 8? Or would 9 be better?

I would love to but my jeep won't go to six states til next week. So I don't think I'd go very far in 2wd with a bum locker. Lol and I have I work.
