Growing up my dad had an '89 XJ lifted and locked on 33s that we would always take out. I got the jeep bug early with that, and I was hooked. When he lost his Jeep due to an electrical fire, he was done with the crawling thing and wanted a more comfortable ride to take him hunting and camping. Ever since then I wanted my own Jeep. In January of '09 I picked up a clean, stock, never wheeled '06 LJ with 12,500 miles for $17k.

I knew I wanted to build my Jeep up to be able to handle some of California's toughest trails, while still being a daily driver. I started wheeling it stock and had a lot of fun. I quickly learned that I hated mud

and loved more technical crawling.

Stupid ****ing bolts.

Removed the rear lower currie bumpstops today and installed (forced in) some Prothanes into the coils. Also (finally) fixed the front passenger side prothane that got jammed onto the upper bumpstop. Epoxied a plate onto the top to prevent that from happening again. Heads up, replace those damn Allen head bolts in the Currie upper bump stops with some hex heads. Such a pain in the *** to install/remove.

Also found where my exhaust leak is coming from. The manifold. Great.

Only pic for now. I'll get some of the bumps later.

Front bumps, with a stop plate glued on to prevent it from getting jammed again

Got the rears in! Huge pain in the ***, but they're in. Used lube, pry bars, hammers, screwdrivers, muscle, and even had to shave the outside edge down a bit. But they're in!

They're glued to a plate with a bolt tacked in it. Keeps the prothane from "floating" in the rear coil, and it's also somewhat adjustable. Can't wait to test them.

I will see what Gerald thinks. I have seen a number of threads on the Savvy 4" rear sitting low. Even the front seems a bit lower than yours.

This was the same day I installed the springs and they have settled a little.

I have no idea what is going on with the Currie rear 4" springs. When I did Marco's on his Unlimited with his hardtop installed, they came out just like your pic shows. I've done a few more on various rigs and some sit just right and some are low.

I think the spring company is screwing around somehow.

I picked up my Modular Under Armor from Gerald last night and completely spaced on asking him about the springs. I will just wait and see what Blaine thinks when he does the rear outboard.

Took 2 1/2 hours to get the damn seized tie rod end out. BFH, BFWrench, breaker bars, torches, pb blaster, and some muscle finally got it out. I blame it on the one time we crossed a dry salt lake bed that wasn't so dry. I put in the new TRE (with anti seize) and popped the other out and put anti seize on it also. Drives better now, no death wobble.
