I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.

The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.

So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!

Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?

If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!

bonez, you ride? What bike? I'm always looking for people to ride with. I prefer single track but typically anything is better then sitting on the couch or wrenching in the garage. LOL Fast or slow, doesn't matter, I just like the excuse to get out on the bike and it's been neglected pretty badly lately.

Actually speaking of bikes... If anyone has ever wanted to try riding dirt bikes or used to ride and wants to go give it a shot again I have a spare bike I built up as a loaner for friends. Basically, you cover anything you break and chip in for gas and we go cruise. Anything from flat dirt roads if you're a total first timer to as technical as you want to take it. The bike is a 125 two stroke so it's not a power house or anything to worry about but it'll still get up and go. Hit me up if someone wants to take a spin on 1 wheel drive! I've gotta few spare old helmets, spare size 10 and 12 boots, spare chest protector, spare elbow pads, probably some spare knee pads too. Basically I've got all the hard gear covered loaner wise. You might not look stylish in jeans and a long sleeve shirt with all the gear but when you hit the dirt you won't care what you look like as long as the gear does it's job.

Extra bonus points if you're a hot single chick that likes to ride!!! LOL, don't think there's any on here though.

Oh and Merrick, I was thinking... We really should put YSB's phone number on that rolling billboard!!!! If he ever got a call it would be way too damn funny!

I used to ride on the street, but never on dirt. I know it's the difference between cats and dogs. I'd be down to hit up some flat trails at first!

I ride quads so no single track for me. But I'm down to ride. Mostly sand dunes in the winter Dumont, Glamis and Imperial. Summer I tend to head up to Utah and do some trail riding.

I also have a Polaris RZR4 if any one just wants to come along for the ride.

Polaris 700 Snowmobile for the winter have not got to really use it yet so looking forward to next winter!

I have some sandles, plaid shorts, and a t-shirt... Isn't that all you need to ride a motorcycle?
Funny thing is I was at glamis years ago and we were camped 1/4 mile from the canal. Super hot day we decide to ride over to go swimming. I toss on pretty much that exact combo and my helmet. Make it a couple hundred yards from camp and somehow manage to put like the only stick from a bush in the sand dunes in sight right thru my calf muscle! That sucked!

Jean would be pretty beginner friendly area. You can learn the controls and stuff on the lake bed out there and then move onto some of the dirt roads to get used to the feel of it. Start hitting some of the corners and stuff to get used to turning, etc...

I've been riding for 26 years. I've NEVER owned a truck! Seriously... NEVER! Hasn't stopped me, I've got a couple various ways to haul them.

Or like mentioned above there's the hitch hauler. I've had this one since '02ish. It's been all over baja and the southwestern US states. I've had the bike come off once but that was stupidity on my part blasting down a dirt road way faster then I should've.

ahhhh, it's brand new! Getting gas on the way home from buying it in Flagstaff, Az. Funny part is it snowed on my way home and by the time I got it off the truck and in the garage it was covered in mud and road grime and looked like it had been ridden! LOL

Look at those gas prices!!!!

Crap, looking at that brand new bike picture really makes me want to sell mine and go buy another new one!!! Too bad it's like a couple grand right up front just to get it dialed in to my liking! Must not stare at that picture too long! LOL

man I remember when I first joined the military in 97 I used to drive from VA down to FL all the time. Right before the FL border off of 95 there used to be this one stop that always had gas for $.80 a gallon. Those were the days. Heck I remember back in 2003 when I was in Iceland gas was so expensive off base. One of the nationals let me borrow her car and I filled it up on base. You would have thought that I just gave her a million dollars. I guess gas on the base was about 1/4 of the price off base.

That picture with the gas prices would've been roughly Oct of '06 if I remember right. Late '06 for sure either way!

I do remember in highschool in the early 90's for me putting like $1.50 in my friends Nissan Sentra and that was enough for an entire nights worth of cruising! Funny part is a few weeks ago the guy in front of me at the gas station cash register bought some smokes and beer. He gave the clerk $10 and had like $2 and some change coming back. He told her to put it on the gas pump. After he walked out she's all "$2, will that even get that guy home or more then a couple blocks?" We both laughed and compared gas prices as a kid. She was elderly like in her 60's and told me about putting like $0.25 in the tank and getting entire nights worth of cruising and that was with a huge V8 car! LOL

My first ride... 1982 Honda XR100

Moved on to a '83 XR200 that my dad used to ride.

Then a '87 CR125

'86 yamaha TT350. (this bike should NEVER have left the ground! LOL)

1990 KX250

the old CJ7!

Then out of college I picked up a '99 YZF400 which I don't have pictures of.

Bought my first brand new bike after that which was my '03 honda CRF450

and now I have my two KTM's pictured in the previous post in the trailer and on the back of the jeep/truck.

LOL, there's my bike pictorial! I've also currently got a '78 honda C70 scooter and an old honda XL125 dual sport in my shed that are both mint but need tires and batteries to run.
