I currently have 31X10.50s and i am currently wanting to get 33's and sooner the better. Currently i dont have the spare money to put a suspension lift on and really dont want to put on a BL. i was thinking with factory suspension and tubed flares i would be ok in the front, but how will it be affected in the rear?

also will i have problems off road with this setup?

and for a bigger dream would 33X11.50s suck under ok? i dont like to off road hard core as it is my DD and i cant afford to fix it everytime i tear it up, currently battling death wobble till my steering assembly gets here

any suggestions would be greatly apreciated, thanks in advance

i can prolly last on my tires till snow hits... think ill throw 2.25" spacers under it i know i will need bump stops for the rear. will i still need tubed flares then? i knew spacers might be an option but didnt think it would help all that much what is your thoughts on spacers? will the spacers allow me to throw the 33X11.50s on?

i believe i have spacers on the i just bought the jeep in september of last year and ive not done anything but play with it lol. but the wheels stick out about 1.5-2" from stock fender flares so i assume theres spacers installed and by the way it looks when i hit the tiniest of mudholes makes me think it has to have spacers:/ havent actually looked or even thought to look should prolly get on that lol

take some picutres of the springs, anyone here can tell you if there's a spacer or not.
I don't think you need to worry about the tires sticking out too far, it will give it a better stance. But like demp said 11.5" is too wide for stock rims unless you get a wheel spacer. I'd say just throw on some 32's instead if its just with a spacer lift.

You don't have money for a suspension lift.but you have money for tubed fenders.

ooops not spacers, i know it doesnt have spacers on it yet i meant backspace i dont have stock rims... not sure what the backspacing is and i cant post pics just yet as i dont have 25 posts up yet... and yes i can afford tubed fenders because i can install, im scared to try to install a lift on it and even more scared to find out how much someone would charge me to do so.

I was intimidated to try a lift a while back too but it really is very easy on a Jeep Wrangler, just a few bolts and there are tons of great writeups with step by step instructions, that certainly helped me. 4x4xplor.com has a great BB writeup.

As previously posted, hit every bolt with PB blaster for a week before you install and that made things alot easier. We did a lift on my friends TJ and his rear upper shock mount bolts broke and that was a PITA to deal with. But with some PB blaster, possibly some heat, and steady pressure, all bolts will come out well. You can definitely do it yourself :cheers2:

btw update yes it is possible guys:D im now running 33X12.50's on my pretty well stock jeep. after i did a little looking i noticed i do have a 1" BL and with metalcloaks arched tubed fenders.

i was easily able tuck the tires in thanks for the info guys, but i decided i wanted to stay lcog as possible and metalcloak allowed for that. i am still currently thinking maybe a small lift but that will be a ways into the future and when the jeep is no longer my DD ill get pics up soon

i bought my jeep with 32x11.50s on the stock rims, no spacers. The tires rubbed a little under full lock, but that was all. Here is a pic

I got the 33x12.50s a day before the lift, so i went ahead and put them on the stock lift. No rubbing issues at all, it would not be ideal for offroading at all though. here is a pic

this is the jeep with the 3.25" rough country lift

Sounds like a similar direction I want to take my jeep. Where front and back are they rubbing? In the back, is it just some fender trimming that would fix it?

Edit, Demp beat me to it on this one. JustJeepin85, see where there is an icon with mountians on it at the top of the post window? Click on that and it give you a pop up to past a photo link in(right click on an image and select "view image" to get the images http address without all the rest the website stuff around it). Or you can just type the img code tags manually front and back of the photo link, like this but with square brackets:

rubbing in the rear is just the flare it just bends out then goes back, the front is just when i get nice and stuffed in particular spots i rub tread along the bolt heads i got on the rti ramp too, ill try again to get some more pics up i dont think i got any good ones from the front being stuffed though:/

sorry btw i do have a 1" bl if i didnt say that before so i dont think metal cloak took into thought what i planned on doing with my jeep when they say you can run 35's stock, you can but wouldnt go anywhere off the road, the 33's are perfect and i love the short fat look! can i get some thoughts opinions from others.

oh i was getting sway bar rubbage on inner fenders and tire but pretty sure after driving with it disconnected today, ill prolly not be having that prob for long:D

Cool to get someone's opinion who's just tried the 33's with MC fenders. From what I'm looking at 33's are about the max I want, so yeah, diggin' the look:thumbsup:. Maybe a simple bump stock extension would fix your front rub if it's problematic... or maybe just a tad less back spacing would cure the rub too. I bet that's what the MC guys had in mind when talking about 35's.

Edit:

You need to lose that grille guard or at least cut the ears off that are supposed to protect the stock fenders.
X2 on that one. I forgot to mention earlier the fender flare extensions look pretty goofy hanging out by themselves too. Otherwise i like the look as stated above. If that guard is in good condition probably best to sell it to fund a new one rather than put the effort into hacking it and having to paint.
