Help hard time starting 89 Jeep Cherokee after drive

I need your help! This doesnt happen every time, but after driving for 10 mins or more and say I stop for gas it wont start up again. Its cranking and cranking but no go. If I wait a few mins sometimes it will start. some times it wont start for an hour.I cheaked and I have fuel pressure. Any ideas? Please help me out.

I would test the coil while it is in the no start condition. They are prone to thermal failure. Also test the CPS when the condition occurs.

I agree that the crank sensor and the ignition coil are the top two components prone to thermal (heat related) failure.

IF your Jeep starts perfectly every time when it is cold, focus on the above two pieces of hardware.

I don't know if this helps... my 2001 has a warm start problem linked to thermal vapor lock .... your title says 89 but your profile says 99.. I would guess on the 89 this wouldn't be relevant as I suspect the injectors/fuel delivery may be different, but I would bet the 99s have that problem too. There is actually a Tech Service Bulletin on it that recommends installing insulators on the injectors to help stop them vapor-locking.....

Once it starts does it kind of "chug" like it's not really getting enough gas, until you hit the gas a couple of times then it settles down?? That is the symptom on mine...
