You guys are making me want a Patriot!

At first, I wasn't much on the Compass or the Patriot. I want a Jeep that had good highway manners, good mpg, but actually looked like a Jeep. The more I see them, the Patriot is growing on me, with the retro XJ Cherokee look! As I've been reading this section, I really like the idea of a lifted Patriot with maybe 31's. I especially like the BFG M/T's, they looked sweet on the silver Compass I saw in the Picture thread, all that guy needs is a roof rack, spare tire rack in the back and some lights on a light bar! You guys have been a true inspiration to me for getting one!! Afterall, I'm not looking to crawl on rocks and go muddin' in the the thing!! It would be a Jeep, but, better mpg then my YJ!!

Future mods for my future Patriot:

RR Lift kit
29" or 31" BFG M/T's
Some kind of roof basket with light bar
Some kind of rear spare tire carrier

Just some things I have been thinking about to make it look better, . Wish me luck!!

Jerry

Well, GOOD LUCK then! Are you after an FD I or FD II? I personally wouldn't go with 31" (loss of low end) but 29" are safe.

.....or you could go with a Compass with BFG M/T's (225/75R16's which are 29.5"). soon to have the RRO Kit, roof basket and driving lights too.

Sorry to hijack, but have any of you MK guys had any issues with ordering
RRO parts? (Long waits for Shipping, defective parts, crappy customer service from RRO, etc)

The reason that I ask is because over on the ZJ/WJ tech page we have a 10+ page sticky thread that is just filled with RRO horror stories. Is it just the ZJ/WJ guys that are getting the short end of the stick, or is everyone getting it?

Sorry again for the hijack.

I've had no issues. There have been others that have had long waits for the kits because the bushing for the control arms were on back order from the manufacturer. I've emailed Glen several times and talked to a couple of the guys there and they were always courteous and informative.

The MTs shouldn't affect your mileage. The size of the tire will affect your mileage.
