Wire under front seat

Saw a wire under both front seats.
Picture of the left front seat (taken from behind):

For what is it?
My Compass is with cloth seats. No seat-heating.

This is the one size fits all idea.

They use the same wiring harness, no matter if you have heated/power seats or not.

instead of having the supplier make 2 different harnesses they make 1 and ship a large quantity to cut costs.

Hey. I was cleaning my Patriot the other day and noticed the same thing under the passenger seat! The one in your photo looks empty...are there wires in it? There are wires in mine and I don't have power or heated seats either! My boyfriend said it is probably some kind of sensor. I thought it might be there to supply power to the brake lights...or maybe "the black box" like they have on air planes
