What's wrong with my Compass?

I bought my brand new 2012 Compass in December 2011 and for almost the entire year there were no problems. At the beginning of December 2012, with around 18,000 miles on it, my engine light came on while driving accompanied by the traction control light and a significant drop in RPMs. I took it to the dealership at which point they told me they would need to replace the crankshaft sensor. That solved the problem, but now, after only 3 months and at 23,000 miles, the exact same thing happened. This time the dealership told me that it was the camshaft sensor. Nobody seems to be able to explain why a car that is still so new would have either issue, let alone both in such a short time span. I'm just looking for possible answers so I know if this is what life with my Compass will be like and if it's worth keeping.

Im curious why a traction control light would have anything to do with engine sensors.

I won't be able to explain why some Jeeps have problems/issues and others don't. Hopefully, you won't need your warranty again, but it is valid for awhlile.
