Not exactly like that, I am a little different. I loved my last car. It was a escort wagon 5 speed. It was my second of 3 ,but after towing and a 100,000 miles(1000 pound pop up and wood 16 foot boat) it needed it and ford stopped making them. I only saw the compass because the dealer sold more than jeeps. It was the right price and has filled the space very nicely and a five speed.(escort and focus wagon were once very highly rated). I feel jeep should of gone after( maybe small) but the on road wagon instead of cross over in which it has been beaten up by the critics. worst cars of decade .lastly that would allow for more street gearing for better hwy miles .I know jeep faithful would disown jeep.

Some might think I'm crazy...I traded in an '05 Dodge Neon SXT 5-speed that (after some mods, and 30K miles) still got 27mpg city. It was sunburst orange with chrome rims, high-speed tires, dual stainless exhaust tips, CAI, Kicker sound system, dark tinted glass. All paid off!!! If I hadn't needed a good trade in for the Jeep, I'd have kept the Neon also. Now I have a new (old) one to play around with for racing while my Compass does the dirty DD work and mud too, lol.

New to the forums.
I traded in my ex-wife's 1998 Dodge Neon for my 2008 Patriot. The Neon had a few mods and was a 14-sec car, but was quickly falling apart. Overheating, ticking, burning oil, etc. The last straw finally came when the metal on the latch-side of the drivers door tore and the door would not even shut. I drove it to the dealership with the door bungied shut. I had been looking for a few weeks and a few days prior to the door issue, I spotted a 2008 Pat, very base (5spd, no real options, exactly what I wanted), Surf Blue (not my first choice, but a very unique and rare color for this area). Just a hair under 12k miles stickered at $10k. I couldn't pass, since another dealership a few miles away had a silver one with the exact same setup, and 500 less miles, for $14,000. Surprisingly, I got $500 trade for the Neon. Compared to the Neon, it's obviously not as fast, but still peppy enough. Gas mileage is actually better than what the Neon was getting at the end of it's life. Utility-wise, it's far more useful. I moved several months after getting it, and I was able to get alot of stuff in it that would have been out of the question. Midsized furniture, a dishwasher, etc. |

I sold my jeep, and bought this from my mother.
![]() She then used the cash to buy her patriot...so, she essentially traded a fully loaded 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T for the patriot....she loves the little thing.

Traded in my 2000 Saturn Sw2 5spd wagon. My husband referred to the constant noises inside the Saturn's interior as the "Saturn rattle of quality" and he also said it sounded like a herd of mice had broken loose inside of it. The Compass on the other hand is nice and quiet, and gets a little worse mileage, but not horrible. I do like having the higher seating in the Compass, reiminds me of my 86 Bronco II
