Weird noise following alignment

Recently got an alignment and later that day after driving the vehicle home, started to hear a rather loud clunking noise from the rear of the vehicle around 40 mph and over. The sound only seems to start when I hit that speed and will continue even when coming to a stop. But from a stop it doesn't start again until that speed. The sound also quickens/slows down with the speed. Axle/drive shaft related? Not sure if its at all related to the alignment or just coincidence. 08 riot 4x4 CVT with 110,000 miles. Hoping for some thoughts before taking it back to my mechanic
